Chapter 92: Quick Guide to the God of Elements (VII)

"I seem to have seen this pattern somewhere..."

He murmured, "But I can't remember."

At this moment, an old voice sounded from behind us: "That is the entrance to the Elemental Abyss."

We turned around suddenly and saw an old man in a gray robe appearing behind us. He was thin and had wrinkles all over his face, but his cloudy eyes sparkled with wisdom.

"Who are you?" I asked cautiously.

"An old wizard from Elemental Town, who knows only a little magic."

The old man smiled and his eyes fell on Morpheus, "You are very similar to him, my child."

Morpheus was stunned for a moment, as if he remembered something, but soon shook his head: "I don't know you."

The old wizard sighed and said nothing more. He just turned and walked towards the giant tree.

"Come with me,"

He said, "I know what you want."

I hesitated for a moment, but finally followed him, dragging Morpheus with me. I had a feeling that this old wizard might know how to restore my power.

We followed the old wizard to the giant tree. He stretched out his dry hand and pressed on the strange pattern.

"The Abyss of Illusion is the most dangerous place in the world, but it is also the place that contains the most powerful power."

The old wizard's voice was low and hoarse. "Are you really ready?"

Morpheus and I looked at each other and saw determination in each other's eyes.

"We're ready," I said.

The old wizard nodded, and a strong light suddenly burst out from his hand. The pattern also lit up, forming a vortex-shaped portal.

"Come in,"

The old wizard said, "The gears of fate have begun to turn. Everything depends on you."

I took a deep breath, took Tang Yao's hand, and walked into the portal.

Everything was dark before my eyes, and there was only the sound of the whistling wind in my ears. I felt like I was falling rapidly, as if I had fallen into an endless abyss...

"Hold on to me!" I yelled, but all I got in response was a hollow echo.

Suddenly, a ray of light appeared in front of my eyes, and we seemed to have reached the bottom of the abyss. I tried to open my eyes, but the scene in front of me made me freeze in place.

This is a desolate land, with black rocks and rolling magma everywhere. The air is filled with a pungent smell of sulfur that makes people nauseous.

In front of us is a huge black altar, engraved with all kinds of strange symbols, exuding a frightening aura.

"Is this... the abyss of illusion?"

Morpheus' voice trembled a little.

I held his hand tightly, looked around, and suddenly felt uneasy.

"careful!"

I pulled Morpheus behind me, drew the dagger from my waist, and stared ahead vigilantly.

Not far from us, a tall figure slowly walked out of the darkness. He was wearing a black robe and a hideous mask. His face could not be seen clearly, but from the strong aura emanating from him, we could tell that he was definitely not a good person.

"You are finally here..." He said in a low voice, his tone full of teasing and cruelty.

"I have been waiting for you for a long time, Morpheus..."

"What do you mean, he knew Morpheus?"

The other side of the portal was not the bright world I had imagined, but a bottomless darkness.

The sticky dark breath entangled me like a living thing, trying to drag me into a deeper abyss. I felt suffocated, and I heard Tang Yao's suppressed scream.

"Don't be afraid, hold on to me!"

I held his hand tightly, and the cool touch of his fingertips made me feel a little relieved. In the darkness, I could only vaguely see the blurry back of Morpheus.

"This is the entrance to the Abyss of Illusion,"

The old wizard's voice echoed in the empty space

"Only by passing the Trial of the Abyss can you truly master the power of magic." His tone was serious, with unquestionable majesty.

I took a deep breath and tried to calm my pounding heart. I knew I had no choice. I had to pass the test to gain a foothold in this world, to protect and find what I wanted, and to survive.

"Let's go."

I whispered, my tone firm.

The old wizard didn't say anything, just nodded slightly, then turned and walked into the darkness. I followed closely behind him, pulling Morpheus with me. Every step I took was extremely heavy, as if I was walking on the edge of a knife.

In the darkness, time seemed to lose its meaning. I didn't know how long we had walked, or how far we had walked. I only felt that the darkness around us was getting thicker and thicker, and the sense of oppression was getting stronger and stronger.

Suddenly, I felt a powerful force attacking from the front. I instinctively protected Morpheus behind me and mobilized all the magical power in my body to prepare for the attack.

"careful!"

The old wizard's voice came from afar, mixed with the sound of the collision of elemental forces.

I looked closely and saw the old wizard struggling with a ball of black mist. The mist kept changing its shape and making sharp and piercing noises, like a demon from the depths of hell, which was terrifying.

“That’s… a dark elf!” I was shocked and immediately realized that we were in trouble.

Dark elves are the most dangerous of all magical creatures. They have no entity, can change their form at will, and are full of desire for destruction. Once you are entangled by them, it is difficult to get rid of them.

Although the old wizard is powerful, he is old after all. Under the fierce attack of the dark elements, he gradually becomes unable to cope with it.

"You guys, go!"

While fending off the attacks of the dark elves, the old wizard shouted, "Leave this to me, you take it and go first!"

"But……"

"No buts!"

The old wizard shouted, "This is an order!"

I knew I couldn't hesitate any longer. I looked at the old wizard deeply, then pulled Morpheus and turned to run into the depths of darkness.

However, before we ran far, we were blocked by a group of black vines. The vines seemed to be alive, entwining us madly and trying to drag us into the darkness.

“Damn it!”

I roared, swung the dagger in my hand, and cut the vines one by one.

However, those vines seemed endless. When we cut one, two would grow again. Soon, we were surrounded.

"Magic of Fire. Ashes" Morpheus' voice was powerful.

Those black vines turned into ashes in front of me in an instant, and then turned into flames to illuminate the night.

"Big handsome guy, you are so cool"

"Young handsome boy, calm down!"

Morpheus' voice came from the side, but his words seemed unable to reach my ears. I just wanted to destroy everything in front of me.

The dark elves seemed to sense my change, they roared sharply and rushed towards me more fiercely. I faced them fearlessly and let them surround me.

"Ah! It's poisonous!"

Severe pain came from every corner of my body. The erosion of the dark element made me feel so painful that I wanted to die. I felt my consciousness gradually blurred and my body began to tremble uncontrollably.

"Zi'ang!"

Morpheus exclaimed, his voice full of worry and anxiety.

I wanted to respond to him, but no sound came out. I could only watch myself fade away into obscurity.

Just when I was about to lose consciousness, a cold chill suddenly came from my hand, and the chill quickly spread to my whole body, pulling me back from the edge of darkness.

I suddenly opened my eyes and saw that Morpheus was holding my hand tightly. His face was pale and his forehead was covered with fine beads of sweat, but he still held my hand tightly without relaxing at all.

"you……"

I wanted to ask, but found that my voice was terribly hoarse.

"Hush..." Morpheus gently pressed his finger on my lips, his eyes gentle but firm, "Don't talk, save your energy."

His voice was like the sound of nature, calming the turmoil and anxiety in my heart. I felt a warm power coming from her palm, which slowly flowed through my body, dispelling the erosion and pain brought by the dark elves.

I closed my eyes and greedily enjoyed the warmth of Morpheus.
