Chapter 93: Quick Guide to the God of Elements (VIII)
I don't know how long it took, but I finally regained some strength. I opened my eyes and found that the dark elves around me had disappeared, replaced by a dim light.
"Where is this..." I looked around in confusion.
"The edge of the abyss."
Morpheus' voice rang in my ears, "We are safe."
I struggled to stand up, but found that my body was still very weak.
"Don't move."
Morpheus helped me sit down, his tone carrying a hint of blame, "Do you know how dangerous you were just now? You almost..."
He stopped talking, but I knew what she wanted to say.
"I'm fine."
I held his hand, feeling his cool body temperature, and my heart was filled with gratitude. "Thank you, Morpheus."
He didn't say anything, just looked at me quietly. His eyes were complex and deep, as if they contained thousands of words.
I wanted to ask him what happened, but he just shook his head, stood up and walked forward.
"Let's go,"
His voice echoed in the empty abyss, "We should move on."
I looked at his back, my heart filled with doubts and curiosity, but I didn't ask much, I just followed him silently...
The air in the abyss was filled with a damp earthy scent mixed with the nauseating smell of some unknown rotting plant.
I suppressed my discomfort and stumbled after Tang Yao. She moved through the dark forest like a ghost, her steps light and silent.
"Watch your step."
He suddenly stopped and looked back at me. The moonlight shone through the gaps between the leaves onto his fair face, outlining his delicate features and illuminating the fleeting worry in his eyes.
I nodded, trying to walk lightly to avoid stepping on the strange-looking plants. Everything here made me feel strange and uneasy, as if I were in a completely unfamiliar world.
"Is this the abyss?" I asked in a low voice, trying to break the suffocating silence.
"Only part of it,"
Morpheus replied calmly, "The Abyss is far more vast and dangerous than you imagine."
We continued to move forward. The trees around us grew taller and taller. Their branches and leaves intertwined with each other, blocking out the sun and making the already dim environment even darker.
I could only barely see Morpheus' figure flickering ahead, as if he would disappear into the darkness at any moment.
After walking for an unknown amount of time, a clearing suddenly appeared in front of us. In the center of the clearing stood an ancient stone tablet, which was engraved with strange runes and emitted a faint light, illuminating a small area around it.
"What is this?"
I walked forward and looked closely at the runes, trying to find some clues.
"A seal."
Morpheus' voice sounded behind me, "A very ancient and very powerful seal."
"Seal?" I turned around and looked at him in confusion. "Seal what?"
Morpheus did not answer my question, but walked to the stone tablet, stretched out his hand, and gently touched the runes.
His fingers seemed to carry magic power. Wherever they moved, the runes emitted a faint glow. Those lights connected to each other, forming a complex pattern that floated in the air.
"It is sealed here..."
Morpheus' voice deepened. "A sleeping beast."
I gasped and stared at the stone tablet in front of me in disbelief. The power of a giant beast is enough to destroy an entire town? What kind of power is this?
"We have to unlock it."
Morpheus spoke suddenly, his tone firm and decisive, as if he had made an important decision.
"What?"
I looked at him in surprise. "Why do you want to untie it? Didn't you just say..."
"I know what I'm talking about."
Morpheus interrupted me, "This beast, we must master it."
He turned around and looked at me intently, his eyes full of determination, resolve, and a desire that I could not understand.
"Only in this way can we fight against the enemy that is coming..."
He whispered, with a barely perceptible tremor in his voice, and then he stretched out his hand and pressed it on the stone tablet. The complex rune pattern instantly glowed brightly...
The dazzling light made me close my eyes subconsciously. I heard a buzzing sound in my ears and my body seemed to be pulled by some force, and I couldn't help but step back.
When I opened my eyes again, Morpheus was already standing on the other side of the stele, and the complicated rune pattern had disappeared. The stele returned to its calm state, as if nothing had happened.
"Are you okay?"
I quickly ran to Morpheus and asked with concern.
"I'm fine."
Morfeas shook his head, his face was a little pale, but his eyes were unusually bright. "The seal has begun to loosen. We need to find a way to unlock it."
"How to unlock the seal?"
I looked around. There was nothing but this ancient stone monument and dense forest. “Could there be any clues here?”
"The old wizard said that if you want to unlock the seal, you must get the approval of the magic elves."
Morpheus's eyes fell on a groove at the bottom of the stone tablet. "This should be where the energy source stone is placed."
Energy source stone? I looked at the groove, my heart full of doubts. What is the energy source stone? What does it have to do with unlocking the seal?
"The Energy Stone is the embodiment of magical power. It has the ability to store magic. The energy required for the seal is provided by it. Once you touch the energy provided by the Energy Stone, you can enter the seal."
Morpheus seemed to see my confusion and patiently explained, "Legend has it that only people with pure souls can use energy source stones."
"Just try it. I believe you."
Morpheus suddenly took my hand. His hand was a little cold, but it gave me a warm power. "We will find the magic elves together."
His eyes were firm and confident, as if full of magic, making me unconsciously want to believe him and follow him.
"Okay, let's do it together." I nodded and held his hand tightly.
Morpheus took my hand and closed my eyes. Our energies were exchanged with each other. There seemed to be countless spider webs in the air. I sensed the fluctuations of the energy stone and used magic to cut off the link between it and the seal.
"This is a good treasure, keep it."
In the next few days, we traveled to every corner of the abyss, looking for clues about magical elves.
We encountered all kinds of dangers, including strange monsters, extremely poisonous plants, and even mysterious space cracks. But every time, we worked together to overcome the dangers.
In the process, I gradually understood the truth of this world. It turned out that this world is not as peaceful as it seems on the surface. A powerful dark force is quietly rising, trying to break the current peace and destroy everything.
“Found it!”
On this day, we finally found records about magical elves in a hidden cave.
"Magical elves, born from the god of elements, are one of the ancient magical creatures..."
I read the words on the stone wall carefully by the light of the fire. "If you want to be recognized by the magic elves, you must pass its test..."
Test? I raised my head and looked at Morpheus. "What kind of test is it?"
Morpheus did not speak, but walked forward and pressed his hand on the stone wall. The next moment, the stone wall suddenly shone brightly, and a huge portal appeared in front of us.
"It seems we have no choice."
Morpheus turned around and looked at me, a handsome smile on his face.
I took a deep breath, gripped the sword tightly, and stepped into the portal with him...
The world behind the portal is a vast starry sky. The stars are twinkling, shining brightly, and the beauty is breathtaking.
But soon, my attention was attracted by the scene before me - a huge blue crystal ball suspended in the center of the starry sky, emitting dazzling light, and powerful energy waves emanating from it, shocking people.
"Is this a magic elf?" I murmured to myself, deeply shocked by this power.
"Yes, we succeeded." Morpheus' voice rang in my ears, with a barely perceptible tremor.
We slowly approached the crystal ball, and a strong suction force pulled us towards it. Just when we were about to touch the crystal ball, something strange happened!
