Chapter 93 Quickly Transmigrated! Going Bankrupt Overnight and Becoming the Young Master’s Bodyguard (2)

I was about to retort when Shen Haoxuan suddenly spoke up: "Manager Zhang, your concern seems a bit unnecessary. Feng Ziang is quite skilled, and he was once the son of a wealthy family, so he should know the rules."

Manager Zhang's expression changed slightly. He didn't expect Shen Haoxuan to speak for me. He hesitated for a moment, then said, "Boss Shen, I'm just considering safety..."

Shen Haoxuan waved his hand and interrupted him, "Okay, it's settled. Feng Ziang, report here at 8 o'clock tomorrow morning."

I was stunned for a moment, I couldn't believe that I was actually hired. I looked at Shen Haoxuan, my eyes filled with gratitude.

"Thank you, Mr. Shen." I said sincerely.

Shen Haoxuan nodded slightly, then turned and left the room. Secretary Wang followed closely behind him and also walked out.

Manager Zhang glared at me fiercely, then threw the form on the table and said, "Don't be late tomorrow!"

I picked up the form and left the room silently. Walking out of the Shen family villa, I took a deep breath, my heart filled with complicated emotions. I don't know what will be waiting for me, but I believe that as long as I work hard, I will be able to overcome all difficulties.

The next morning, I arrived at the bodyguard recruitment office at the Shen family villa on time. However, what I saw surprised me... Manager Zhang was standing with Li Dali. Li Dali was holding an exquisite gift box and handing it to Manager Zhang, while Manager Zhang had a flattering smile on his face.

The gate of the Shen family villa is still majestic, and the morning sunlight shines on the iron carvings, reflecting a cold light. I took a deep breath and tried to calm my uneasy mood. Shen Haoxuan's maintenance yesterday gave me a glimmer of hope, but it also made me more clearly aware that I was about to step into a more complicated environment.

I arrived at the bodyguard recruitment office on time, but found the atmosphere here a little subtle. Manager Zhang was standing with Li Dali, the two were whispering something, Li Dali was holding a beautifully wrapped gift box in his hand and was handing it to Manager Zhang. Manager Zhang had a flattering smile on his face, which made me feel disgusted. I immediately understood what happened, and a surge of anger surged in my heart, but I quickly suppressed it. I knew that now was not the time to explode.

I pretended not to notice what was happening and walked straight towards them. "Good morning, Manager Zhang." I said calmly, trying not to show my emotions.

When Manager Zhang saw me, the smile on his face disappeared instantly, replaced by an undisguised look of disgust. "You're here," he said coldly, "Since you're here, go wait over there." He pointed to a pile of heavy sandbags in the corner and said, "Move these sandbags to the training ground."

I looked in the direction of his finger. There were at least dozens of sandbags, each bulging and very heavy. The training ground was on the other side of the villa, which meant I had to move the sandbags one by one, which was obviously a very physically and mentally demanding task.

Li Dali sneered at the side, his eyes full of provocation. I knew that Manager Zhang was deliberately making things difficult for me. He accepted Li Dali's bribe, so naturally he had to clear the obstacles for Li Dali.

I took a deep breath, without complaining, and silently walked to the pile of sandbags, bent down and picked up one. The sandbag was heavier than I thought, and it hurt my arm. I gritted my teeth and walked towards the training ground step by step.

The sun was getting stronger and stronger, my clothes were soaked with sweat, and the sandbag on my back seemed to weigh a thousand pounds. I went back and forth between the recruitment office and the training ground again and again, mechanically repeating the movements of carrying the sandbags. My arms and legs began to ache, and my throat was dry and smoking, but I didn't dare to stop. I knew I had to persevere.

I don't know how long it took, but I finally finished moving all the sandbags. I sat paralyzed on the floor of the training ground, gasping for breath, feeling that all the strength in my body had been drained.

At this moment, I felt a pair of eyes on me. I looked up and saw Secretary Wang standing not far away. She was holding a bottle of water and looking at me quietly. She came over and handed me the water, "Thank you for your hard work."

I took the water and gulped it down. It felt like a downpour after a long drought. "Thank you."

Secretary Wang didn't say anything, she just stood aside and looked at me quietly. There seemed to be a hint of...admiration in her eyes?

"Mr. Feng," Secretary Wang suddenly said, "Mr. Shen would like you to go to his study."

I followed Secretary Wang through the long corridor, feeling very nervous. What did Shen Haoxuan want to see me for? Could it be that what happened yesterday had come to fruition? My palms were slightly sweaty, and I clenched the corner of my clothes nervously.

Shen Haoxuan's study was decorated in an antique style, with bookshelves filled with all kinds of books and the air filled with a faint scent of sandalwood. He sat behind a large desk, holding a document in his hand, with a focused look. When he heard us come in, he raised his head and motioned for me to sit down.

"Mr. Feng," Shen Haoxuan put down the documents and said in a gentle tone, "I saw your performance today."

I was a little confused, so I could only nod and wait for his next words.

"I admire your perseverance." He paused, a hint of praise flashing in his eyes, "You really need this job, right?"

I answered without hesitation: "Yes, Mr. Shen."

Shen Haoxuan smiled slightly, "Very good, I hope you can keep this perseverance."

When I left the study, I felt relieved. Although Shen Haoxuan did not explicitly say that he would hire me, his attitude undoubtedly gave me great hope. I became more determined to stay here.

Back at the recruitment office, I found Li Dali surrounded by other job seekers, talking excitedly. When I approached, the conversation suddenly stopped and several of them gave me unfriendly looks. I didn't know what was going on. Li Dali was saying bad things about me, trying to turn the others against me. I could almost hear him whispering about how desperate I was, portraying me as someone who would do anything to get the job. He might even have exaggerated the bribe he gave to Zhang (someone) to make it seem like I was trying to cheat to get the job.

I met Li Dali's gaze. There was a smug satisfaction in his eyes, the kind that came from thinking he had successfully discredited someone else. I did not react. Instead, I walked right past them and headed for the water dispenser to refill my bottle. I could feel their gazes piercing my back like needles, but I refused to give them the satisfaction of seeing me upset. Let them think what they wanted. My focus was on proving myself, not on these little squabbles. I filled my water bottle, took a long sip, and then walked over to a bench to sit down, quietly awaiting the next stage of the selection process. My composure seemed to make Li Dali even more angry. I saw him gesture angrily in my direction, but I ignored him and kept my eyes on the neatly manicured lawn of the Shen family residence.
