"Tangtang, are you up yet?"
Bei Yutang looked at the sound coming from the small thing in amazement. As long as she spoke into the "cell phone", people thousands of miles away could hear her voice.
This made her feel incredible and even more magical.
The person on the other end of the line didn't hear his daughter's voice, and his voice suddenly became anxious, "My dear daughter, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
"I'm fine."
"Tangtang, there's a problem with the deal your dad and I were discussing. I'm sorry about not being able to attend the opening ceremony. Honey, whatever you want, mommy will buy it for you."
Situations like this happened numerous times every year, and for Bei Yutang, they were already commonplace. From childhood to adulthood, every time he agreed to something, nine times out of ten he would break his promise due to business.
Every time they missed an appointment, the Bei couple would try to make it up to Bei Yutang with material things. Bei Yutang went from being disappointed at first, to being angry later, and now she has become accustomed to it.
Bei Yutang used to think that her parents didn’t love her. It was not until something happened that she realized it, but it was too late.
"Okay, I understand." Bei Yutang responded calmly, "Please be careful when you're out there and get some rest."
Bei's mother stared at the phone for a long time, wondering if she was hallucinating. Every time they broke an appointment, she would either be sarcastic or angry.
Today, instead of getting angry, her daughter showed concern for them, which made Bei's mother flattered.
After hanging up the phone, Bei's mother felt as if she was walking on clouds and had an unreal feeling, until Bei's father walked in and saw his wife in a trance.
"What's wrong? Is Xiaotang angry again?" Bei's father didn't think about it.
Bei's mother said excitedly: "Old Bei, do you know what my daughter just said to me?"
Bei's father looked at her suspiciously, walked to the table, picked up the document, opened it, and asked casually, "What did you say?"
"Our daughter told us to pay more attention to safety and have a good rest." Bei's mother said excitedly.
He looked up in surprise. "My daughter has grown up. After her birthday, she will be an eighteen-year-old adult."
While Bei's father and mother looked pleased, Bei Yutang, who was far away in the Bei family villa on the other side of the ocean, was troubled by many new things.
Looking at the knife and fork on the table, then at the toast, milk, and salad, her brows raised slightly. According to the original owner's memory, this kind of meal was called Western food, and it was what the original owner loved. But she didn't like it.
"Change to Chinese style." She said calmly.
Butler Qin, who was serving on the side, immediately asked the maid to clear all the food on the table, and soon brought out rice porridge, side dishes, and fried dough sticks.
Bei Yutang looked at the meal on the table with satisfaction, picked up her chopsticks and began to eat. She sat upright, taking small sips of the thick porridge, chewing silently. Although it was a very ordinary action, she showed dignity and elegance in it, which was indescribably pleasing to the eye.
Butler Qin looked at the young lady in surprise, feeling that her temperament had changed. The young lady before was beautiful, but lacked a certain charm.
The meal was quiet until Bei Yutang put down his chopsticks.
"Miss, the car is ready." Butler Qin was waiting on the side.
"Um."
Bei Yutang had no problem with the servants' service. As the daughter of the Marquis of Zhongwu and the princess consort of the Prince of Jin, she naturally needed to be served.
For the servants in front of her, in her previous life, it would only seem shabby. You know, in the Southern Tang Kingdom, even a slightly richer family would have more than this number of servants.
