Bei Yutang paused and coughed lightly to cover up the truth that he had accidentally revealed.
After two seconds of silence, someone, as if afraid he'd misunderstood, said, "I didn't specifically ask you to choose a comfortable bed. Don't be so self-indulgent. Do you hear me?"
Her voice suddenly rose in the last sentence.
Beichen's movement to sit down slowed down slightly and he couldn't help but look at her.
Her face clearly showed the words "there is something fishy going on here", but she herself was unaware of it.
Beichen responded softly, "Yeah."
Bei Yutang saw him leaning against the head of the bed with his eyes slightly closed, so she stopped talking.
The two of them closed their eyes quietly and rested. The sunlight from outside the window shone in, making the whole room warm.
After a long while, Bei Yutang whispered, "Beichen, you are mine. Whether in school or outside, I will protect you."
Beichen did not respond.
Bei Yutang knew that he was not asleep, but she asked, "Hey, hey, are you asleep?"
Beichen's eyes were still closed.
Bei Yutang muttered, "No way, he fell asleep so quickly."

"And your mother, although she seems to love you, she actually doesn't love you at all."
