Butler Mori walked up to the two of them and said to Ah Hua, who was holding a lantern, "Is the master's room clean?"
Ah Hua shook her head.
"Hurry up and go."
Ah Hua responded obediently, picked up the lantern and turned to leave. Bei Yutang was looking at Ah Hua's departing back, when suddenly, his sight was blocked by a figure.
She raised her head and looked at Butler Mori who was blocking her way. "Butler Mori, we want to go over here and look for it."
"Ladies, this is the master's private restricted area. Outsiders are not allowed to enter. If you want to find it, please go to the other side." Butler Sen politely ordered them to leave.
Li Mengmeng was not so easily dismissed and asked directly, "I asked Ah Hua before. Your master lost his things when he lived here. It is very likely that the things are here."
Butler Mori smiled and said, "Young ladies, you must have made a mistake. The item was there when the master was in the West Palace. It was not until he left that he discovered it was missing. The treasure disappeared in the West Palace and could not have been in the East Palace."
"But, but..." Li Mengmeng wanted to say something, but didn't know how to convince him.
"This is the master's private place. If you two ladies have nothing to do, please do not set foot here." Butler Sen instructed tirelessly.
"OK."
Bei Yutang pulled Li Mengmeng away. When they walked out of the East Hall, they felt that the temperature around them had risen. The sunlight shone through the window onto the two of them, dispelling the coldness in their bodies and making them feel warm.
"It's still more comfortable here in the West Palace." Li Mengmeng sighed.
"Yes." Bei Yutang responded, and his eyes couldn't help but look at the corridor of the East Palace behind him. The corridor was terrifyingly dark, and the long corridor was like a bottomless abyss. Once people entered, they seemed to be swallowed up.
As soon as this thought came to his mind, Bei Yutang felt a chill rising from the soles of his feet and all the way up to the top of his head.
Li Mengmeng caught a glimpse of Bei Yutang's exposed arms from the corner of her eye and asked in surprise, "Sister Bei, are you cold?"
Li Mengmeng looked at the goose bumps on her arms and was very confused.
Bei Yutang nodded, "Yeah, it's a bit cold."
"Then let's go back quickly."
"Um."
The two of them headed towards the West Hall. As they were leaving, they saw two green lights suddenly appear in the corridor that was as dark as an abyss. From a distance, they looked like a pair of green eyes.
Those eyes stared at the backs of Bei Yutang and the other person as they left.
Bei Yutang, who was leaving, suddenly felt something staring at him, and the feeling he had when he first arrived here last night came back to him.
Bei Yutang subconsciously looked back, and saw only darkness, nothing else.
When Bei Yutang turned her head, the green light in the dark corridor appeared again, staring at them until they were far away.
When Bei Yutang and Li Mengmeng arrived at the hall of the West Palace, they saw Feng Qing and others sitting in the living room. Their faces did not look very good.
"What happened?" Bei Yutang asked.
Doctor Zhang said in a deep voice, "Ten minutes ago, the police called and said there was an approaching typhoon. The sea was too rough, so they couldn't come."
"What?!" Li Mengmeng's voice suddenly rose in shock, "Then we have to share a room with that corpse."
"There's nothing we can do about it." Doctor Zhang looked helpless.
This is not what they want.
