"So good!" Bei Yutang patted her little head. "Go back quickly, your mother will be worried."
"Um."
Bei Yutang watched the little guy walk back to the town.
After getting on the carriage, Bei Yutang said to Xue Qian, "Come sit next to me. I'll teach you how to drive."
Xue Qian sat obediently beside her, listening to her carefully explain how to drive the carriage, control the speed and steering.
"Do you understand?"
Xue Qian nodded.
Bei Yutang put the reins in his hands. Xue Qian's face changed and he said in panic, "Are you letting me drive now? I don't know how yet."
"Try it first. How can you learn if you don't try?"
Xue Qian gripped the reins nervously, his expression tense.
"Relax, don't pull the reins too tight, or the horse will feel uncomfortable. Pull them back quickly when you want to stop."
"Oh oh oh." Xue Qian looked ahead intently.
Before he knew it, a stick of incense had passed and Xue Qian's expression gradually relaxed.
"Okay, you drive alone. I'm going inside to rest."
Xue Qian was still a little worried, "I, I'm afraid..."
Before Bei Yutang could speak, Dai Xiang said, "I've been teaching you for so long, what are you afraid of? Doctor Xue, you're a man. Do you know how long it took our sister Mu to learn how to drive?"
Dai Xiang had no intention of letting her answer and said directly, "A cup of tea."
Xue Qian shut his mouth obediently and never dared to say "I can't do it yet" again.
Bei Yutang handed the doll to Xiao Moer. Xiao Moer didn't move, staring at the doll with his bright black eyes.
"dislike?"
Xiao Moer shook his head, "This is for girls to play with."
Bei Yutang smiled and said, "Then I'll put it away myself."
Xiao Moer nodded.
Bei Yutang waved to Xiao Moer, and Xiao Moer walked to her side obediently.
Bei Yutang held him in her arms, lowered her head and asked, "Why are you unhappy?"
Dai Xiang looked at him in surprise.
Is the young master unhappy? Why didn't he see it?
Little Mo'er lowered his head and said nothing. Bei Yutang did not urge him. After a while, he raised his head again and said, "Mother, shouldn't we have saved them last night?"
Whenever he thought about the times when they had rushed over to ask his mother to pay with her life, he felt very uncomfortable.
Bei Yutang touched his face and asked, "What should be saved and what should not be saved?"
"People who are ungrateful and will bite back should not be saved. Good people can naturally be saved."
Although Xiao Moer didn't say anything, he was very concerned about the behavior of those people.
"Mother asks you, are that little girl and her family good people?" Bei Yutang put the doll in his hands.
"Yes. They are grateful for what they have done for you."
"Suppose, if you hadn't saved them last night. Those people would have died, but the little girl and her family would have died too. How could you have known if they were human or ghosts before you saved them?"
"What if you know?" Xiao Moer asked again.
Bei Yutang took Xiao Mo'er's hand and placed it on his heart. "Asking about this, just follow your heart for everything else."
"Didn't mother tell you before, 'Don't do good deeds, no matter how small, and don't do evil deeds, no matter how small.' Remember this."
Xiao Moer looked at the doll in his hand, and the thorn that had been lingering in his heart was removed.
Little Moer held the doll tightly and said solemnly, "Mother, I understand."
