Dai Xiang handed over the real dagger.
Lord Zhang looked at the two identical daggers in front of him.
"Sir, you can compare the carvings. Most importantly, my own dagger has my name engraved on the inside of the third petal. The dagger I killed, Master Li, does not have it."
Master Zhang brought the dagger close to his eyes and carefully examined the third petal, nodding his head. "It's just as you said. Your name is on it. The other one doesn't."
Master Li's son spoke up, "Sir, just because the dagger isn't his doesn't mean he didn't kill her. Perhaps he deliberately disguised it with a dagger."
As soon as these words were spoken, anyone with a brain looked at them with disdain.
Xiao Moer said calmly, "If I didn't want to use my own dagger, why would I deliberately use a replica of my own? I could just use any dagger. Why would I deliberately forge my own personal dagger to make everyone suspect me of being the murderer and cause myself trouble?"
Doctor Li's son was dumbfounded, and then he realized that he had said something very stupid.
"Do you recognize this piece of clothing?"
Xiao Moer looked at the clothes that the yamen runner brought up. He took a look and said, "It's mine."
"After the coroner's examination, several silk threads were found between the deceased's fingernails. The bailiffs found traces of tearing on your clothes, and the missing silk threads are exactly the same as those in the nail crevices of the deceased."
Before, Xiao Moer calmly proved the murder weapon, which made the people outside the hall begin to believe in his innocence. However, when this evidence came out, all the trust they had just developed disappeared.
Daixiang was very nervous, worried and uneasy.
Master Li's son spoke up, "Sir, the evidence is overwhelming. He is the murderer of my father. To kill his teacher at such a young age shows how vicious he is. Please give my father justice."
Master Zhang looked at Xiao Mo'er, "Do you plead guilty?"
"Sir, may I ask the coroner a question?" Xiao Moer asked politely.
"Can."
Xiao Moer walked up to the coroner and asked in a soft voice, "Uncle Coroner, I want to know the cause of Master Li's death?"
"The deceased was killed with a single blow. The knife was the dagger, and there were no other wounds on his body."
Xiao Moer looked at Master Zhang and said, "Master, can you please bring Master Li up?"
"What do you want to do?"
"Prove your innocence."
"Carry the body."
The bailiffs carried the body up, and Xiao Moer lifted the white cloth, revealing Master Li's body to everyone.
Xiao Moer asked Qian Tong, "Brother Qian, when you saw the Master, I was standing next to Master Li, and Master Li was sitting on a chair with a dagger stuck in his abdomen. Is that right?"
"Yes."
Little Mo'er turned to look outside, then at the runners in the courtroom, and finally fixed his gaze on one of them. "Sir, could you please ask this runner to do me a favor?"
"What are you going to do?" Lord Zhang looked at him suspiciously.
Everyone outside felt strange and couldn't understand his intentions.
"Prove the student's innocence."
After Master Zhang nodded, Xiao Moer ordered someone to bring in an identical chair and table to recreate the scene of the crime. Xiao Moer asked the man, who was the same height as Master Li, to sit down and stood at his side with a dagger.
Seeing this, everyone understood what he was going to do.
