Bei Yutang raised her foot and felt the hand clenching her skirt tightly. She squatted down and tried to pull it out, but she couldn't open his hand no matter what.
A tear fell silently on his clenched hands.
She picked up the knife from the table and gently scratched the hem of her skirt. The corner of her skirt broke, just like the string in her heart broke.
"sorry."
Bei Yutang left, and before leaving, she called her father and mother who were far away on the other side of the Pacific Ocean.
"Yutang."
Bei Yutang heard the laughter of the family of three coming from the phone, and heard Bei's mother scolding the father and son.
"Keep your voices down, Yutang is calling."
There was finally silence on the other end of the phone.
"Yutang, is your honeymoon over? It lasted too long. Xius is the boss of a big company and he must be very busy. You are having a good time now, so don't be exhausted when you come back." Bei's mother reminded.
"We're back."
"That's good. You're still young, so get pregnant quickly. It's good for your health. Don't be like some girls who don't want kids just to keep their figure, okay?"
Bei Yutang listened quietly to her mother's chattering. She was considering and thinking about everything for her. Her heart was warm, but when she thought that she was about to leave here, she felt a surge of guilt.
"Mom, I miss you guys."
"Child, come back if you miss us." Bei's mother said with a smile.
"Mom, give the phone to Xiaobei. I have something to tell him." Bei Yutang said in a low voice.
"good."
Bei Xiaobei's voice soon came from the other end of the phone, "Sister, what do you want to talk to me about?"
"Go back to your room now. I have something important to tell you. Mom and Dad must not know about this."
When Bei Xiaobei heard her solemn tone, his heart trembled. He took his cell phone and walked towards his room. After entering the room, he closed the door.
"Okay, go ahead."
"I'm seriously ill and will pass away soon..." Bei Yutang explained everything to him clearly. "Remember, don't contact Xius. Don't go looking for him."
"Sister, are you lying to me? Did your brother-in-law bully you?" Bei Xiaobei didn't believe it, and would never believe it even if she died.
"Xiaobei, don't overthink it. Zeus is a good person. I'm the one who let him down."
When Bei Xiaobei heard the choked voice on the phone, he believed her words in his heart.
"From now on, the Bei family can only rely on you." Bei Yutang said in a deep voice, "Xiaobei, remember not to go find Xius. If mom and dad want to go, try to stop them. If you really can't stop them, tell them the truth. Tell your sister, can you do it?"
Bei Xiaobei's eyes were red and he murmured, "Sister, I, I can do it. Where are you now? I will find you."
"Don't look for me. I'll go where I should go." After saying that, Bei Yutang hung up the phone.
Bei Xiaobei listened to the beeping sound on the phone and kept calling out, "Sister, sister, sister."
Just then, Beimu's voice came from outside the door.
"Xiaobei, why did you lock the door? Open it quickly."
Bei Xiaobei wiped the tears from her eyes and shouted to her mother outside the door, "Mom, you're so noisy. I'll give you the phone after you finish using it."
Bei's mother stood at the door, looking at the closed door and muttered unhappily.
"What are these two siblings whispering about?"
As soon as Bei's mother left, Bei Xiaobei hid in the quilt, suppressing his tears so that his parents wouldn't hear him.
