After Bei Yutang left, she went to where Noson was temporarily staying. When she arrived, Noson had already escaped the hunters and returned home. As soon as she returned, she smelled a familiar smell.
"It smells so good." Northen stared straight at the bright red blood that Bei Yutang was pouring into the cup.
Northen picked up the quilt and took a sip, smacking his lips. "This tastes better than last time. Last time, the duck blood was really awful. By the way, what kind of blood is this time?"
"Human blood." Bei Yutang slowly uttered the two words.
"What?" Northen's eyes widened. "Where did you get the human blood?"
"Don't look at me with such surprise. This blood was processed in the hospital. I secretly brought a few bags over to you. They'll serve as your rations for the time being."
Northen savored it carefully. "Although this human blood is expired, it still tastes better than chicken blood or duck blood."
"You've never thought about drinking human blood before?"
With Noson's previous family business, it was easy for him to get some human blood.
Northen shook his head. "I'm afraid of being discovered, and I hate my identity as a vampire even more. If I consume human blood, I won't be able to get over it. Now, I'm completely despised by humans. Thinking about my past self, everything I did seems unnecessary."
"I should have understood long ago that from the day I became a vampire, I was destined to be unable to coexist with humans."
Bei Yutang saw that he was disappointed and stepped forward to pat his shoulder. "Perhaps, one day in the future, humans and vampires will be able to coexist."
"Maybe." Northen responded perfunctorily. Deep down, he didn't believe that such a day would ever come.
It was not until a long, long time later, when humans and vampires coexisted, that he recalled what the woman said that day and felt a surge of emotion in his heart.

Simon traveled through most of the territory, seeing one bustling city after another. In each city, he would stay for half a month, carefully investigating it. This day, he arrived at Rem's territory, and just as he was halfway through his exploration, he was forced to interrupt because of the arrival of a certain person.
Rem had regained consciousness a month ago and was recovering. She was a bit uneasy when Simon arrived in her territory. After all, this master was not someone to be trifled with.
Rem stepped forward with a smile. "Duke Simon, what brings you here today? If there's anything you need my help with, please let me know as soon as possible. Things are different now. We vampires must work together to restore our homeland to its former glory."
She spoke tentatively, her words illuminating their current predicament and her own thoughts.
Simon glanced at her and said coldly, "Just passing by."
Rem felt relieved when she saw he wasn't looking for trouble. She had been really worried that this guy was looking for trouble. It was obvious that her presence was provoking dislike, and she wasn't the kind of person who didn't know what was good for her. She said something and then left.
The elder following behind Rem asked, "Sir, do we need someone to keep an eye on Duke Simon?"
Rem glanced at him coldly. "Keep an eye on him? Are you sure your men can avoid being discovered by him? If there is such a person, I don't mind you doing it."
The elder immediately shut up, knowing he had made a mistake. If he sent someone to watch him and he found out, something bad could happen.
