Fu Yan put down the knife and fork in his hand, lowered his eyes and wiped the corner of his mouth with a handkerchief. His movements were elegant and noble throughout.
He had finished eating and talking, and was now ready to leave.
"Sit down." Father Fu had a serious face, with very deep "川"-shaped wrinkles between his brows, and it was obvious that he was often frowning.
Fu Yan raised his eyes and looked directly at his father, "My work is not finished yet."
"You still think about work!" Father Fu glared at him, "You haven't been home for so long, and as soon as you come back you tell me you're getting married?!"
"Just because you're in control of the company, you don't take me, your father, seriously, right?" Father Fu slammed the table hard, and the dishes made a 'ping-pong' sound.
Mother Fu put down her handkerchief as usual and asked, "You haven't told me whose daughter she is yet?"
Fu Yan seemed uninterested in his parents' questions. What his parents cared about was never him, but the reputation of the Fu family.
My parents had a business marriage and had no feelings for each other.
Usually his parents play separately, and he told them two days in advance that they could get together for dinner this time.
Fu Yan raised the corner of his mouth sarcastically, "She's not some rich girl, just an ordinary person."
Father Fu's eyes suddenly darkened. "Then there's no need to meet. You happen to be free tomorrow. Come with me to meet Mr. Wang's daughter."
"You also know Mr. Wang's daughter. Meet her tomorrow and we can discuss the engagement." Mother Fu's attitude was the same as her husband's. "Engagement this year, marriage next year."
They spoke to their son in an imperative tone.
There was no warmth in Fu Yan's eyes. "Don't forget, the Fu family is under my control now."
