When Wan Ge realized it was a matriarchal society storyline, she was actually a little happy, because she thought of her sweet and gentle husband. If it weren't for his heartbreaking experiences, she would really love his matriarchal world personality.
But when I received the script, I paused for a moment. In a matriarchal world, the minor villain is a general. So, he could either be a girl or dressed as a woman.
Just as she had thought, someone had predicted that if the villain was a boy, he would likely endanger the country in the future. In order to save the villain's life, his family had always said that he was a girl after he was born.
Moreover, there was a baby girl who took his place during the prenatal examination. After learning it wasn't a boy, the Empress felt much more at ease. Although she had someone keep an eye on things to see if anything went wrong, she didn't pay much attention to it anymore.
Little did they know, after the physical examination, the villain was switched back. She had simply been living as a woman, following her mother into battle, and thus became a general at a young age.
The original owner of this body was the Imperial Advisor, a figure of immense status in this world. Even the Empress held her in high esteem and dared not offend her lightly. The common people, even more so, trusted the Imperial Advisor's every word. In their understanding, the Imperial Advisor was a god descended to earth, capable of discerning all divine will.
The villain's psychological problem is actually the fear of having his identity exposed and then being killed.
However, besides the villains, the male and female protagonists in this world also need her help to complete some tasks.
The storyline of the male and female leads is actually quite tragic. They were childhood sweethearts who loved each other deeply. However, the female lead was born with the destiny of a phoenix and was destined to become the new empress.
The female protagonist has lofty ambitions. The current empress is incompetent, and the next empress will be even worse. So, not long after, the female protagonist begins to plot a rebellion.
However, she didn't tell the male lead about this, because she didn't want him to get involved in danger, so the male lead never knew what the female lead was doing.
To avoid arousing suspicion, the female lead acted as a free spirit during that period, but in reality, she remained chaste for the male lead.
The male protagonist was unaware of this; he only felt that the female protagonist's heart had long since left him and that she had never considered marrying him again.
So later, the male protagonist obeyed his mother's arrangement and married a high-ranking official as his principal husband. Because of his outstanding appearance, he was later favored by the newly enthroned empress and was taken away by her to become her concubine.
In the end, the male protagonist realized what the female protagonist wanted to do, but on the day the city fell, he jumped off the city wall, separating him from the female protagonist forever.
The female protagonist never married and posthumously honored the male protagonist as the Phoenix Lord.
The most regrettable thing about love is that you love me very much and I love you very much, and we are still in this world, but I never know your feelings.
The female protagonist's regret is that she wanted to protect her lover, but in the end, she was the one who pushed him away and hurt him.
The male protagonist's regret is his lack of trust in his lover, feeling that vows of eternal love are nothing more than promises made in the moment when he was deeply in love.
So, besides appeasing the villains, Wan Ge also slightly made up for the regrets of the male and female leads.
The story of the male and female protagonists comes from the background story of the song "Giving My All." However, the roles of the male and female protagonists are reversed. This story has always been a source of regret for me, which is why I wanted to write about it briefly.
