Upon hearing the familiar voice, Mr. Shen looked up, gave a curt "hmm" in a cold tone, and then calmly said, "Your mother asked me to take you home."
In fact, Madam Shen never said such a thing; it was just that the man wanted to take his daughter home.
Mr. Shen's tone was not good either; it wasn't a simple notification but more like an order, as if he were saying, "You must come home with me."
"You know I won't go back." He could feel the resistance in the other person's tone. Wan Ge actually understood that Mr. Shen just wanted his daughter to come home, but he would never back down, which was why he said it in this tone.
"Whatever you want." Mr. Shen's expression instantly turned sour, but he didn't force the person to leave. He simply left after saying those two words.
Ran Xin stood silently to the side, not daring to speak. Mr. Shen's aura was too terrifying; how could a nobody like her dare to speak?
After seeing Mr. Shen leave, Ran Xin pulled Wan Ge back to her room.
After entering the room, he asked curiously, "Is he really your father?"
Wan Ge hummed in agreement.
Ran Xin said softly again, "So you two had a fight?"
"I ran away from home." Wan Ge's tone was indifferent, as if it wasn't an important matter.
Upon hearing the words "ran away from home," Ran Xin was visibly taken aback: "Huh? Why?"
After asking the question, Ran Xin seemed to realize that she shouldn't have asked so many questions, and then said softly, "I'm just curious. It's okay if you don't want to tell me."
Looking at the girl beside her, Wan Ge's smile deepened: "It's okay, you can ask. It's because I didn't want to marry someone I didn't like, so I ran away from home."
"Running away from the wedding!" So that's what it was all about.
Ran Xin seemed to recall the time when she had offended those ladies before, and it seemed that her worries were unnecessary.
Ran Xin looked at Wan Ge in front of her. She knew she shouldn't meddle too much in other people's business, but she still wanted to say to the girl in front of her: "I feel like your father was worried about you, so he almost came to take you home."
It was obvious that the busy man had come specifically for his daughter; he must have been waiting for a long time. It's just that fathers aren't good at expressing themselves.
Wan Ge replied, "I know, but even after I go home with him, he'll still continue to plan my life. Let's wait a bit longer. I'll wait until I'm in a relationship with someone I like, and then I'll bring him home."
"You have someone you like?" Ran Xin looked surprised, then thought about how Wan Ge would sometimes look down to reply to messages. She had always felt that Wan Ge wasn't the type to play on her phone, so she must be replying to messages from someone she liked.
Ran Xin smiled faintly and said, "You're so wonderful, he'll definitely like you!"
If someone as wonderful as Wan Ge doesn't reciprocate his feelings, then he's not worthy of Wan Ge's affection.
Wan Ge gave a soft "hmm". Actually, the person she liked also liked her, but she didn't want it to happen so quickly, and Yan Chenyi still had a lot of things to do.
Wan Ge could almost imagine the comments that would follow if he really announced his relationship. Besides, she hadn't even seen him face the comments yet, so she decided to wait. His new song was about to be released, and there would definitely be a lot of comments then.
