Madam Yan made her stance clear: she didn't object to the two of them being together, but if they wanted to get married, Wan Ge had to persuade Yan Chenyi to return to the Yan family and continue working as his pianist.
Wan Ge refused outright: "I will not persuade him to do something he doesn't like, no matter what the situation is, I will not persuade him."
He was averse to it; such a genius never touched the piano.
Before Madam Yan could say anything more, Wan Ge continued, "Even if I can never marry him, I will never persuade him to do something he doesn't like."
Having been together for so many lifetimes, would I still care about that one stamp?
As long as he acknowledges to others that he is his wife, no one can change the fact that she is his wife.
"Then we have nothing more to say." Madam Yan picked up her things and prepared to leave.
Just as they were leaving, they heard someone behind them ask, "Haven't you ever regretted it?"
Haven't you ever regretted what you did to him?
The real reason Yan Chenyi rejected the piano was not because he practiced it so hard, nor because he hated the piano, but because of his parents' indifference towards him and their demands on him that were only related to the piano.
It made him feel that, apart from his grandmother, he was nothing more than a machine to satisfy his parents.
Yan Chenyi met their expectations, but they didn't show him any care or concern.
If Yan Chenyi, such a talented person, had received enough love and used a gentler approach from his parents, he might have become an even more heartwarming piano master.
He will love the piano, and his achievements in it will make him feel proud rather than miserable.
Madam Yan didn't say anything, she just left.
…
When Wan Ge returned home, Yan Chenyi was busy in the kitchen.
After the new song incident, the two of them lived together, sharing a bed but doing nothing else.
After being with her, Yan Chenyi seemed to create very little, spending more time thinking about what delicious food to make for her.
Wan Ge wasn't very busy. She was a freelancer and had her husband to support her, so she didn't need to worry too much about making a living. She just wrote some stories and occasionally provided background music for the female lead.
It seems that because of the evening song accompaniment, Yan Chenyi bought her a new piano.
Wan Ge didn't tell Yan Chenyi that she had met his mother. She reached out and hugged him, asking, "What delicious food are you making again?"
Yan Chenyi smiled faintly: "You'll find out soon enough."
Wan Ge looked down at his well-defined hands. His hands were really beautiful, long and white. Although some muscles and calluses had formed in some places due to playing the piano for a long time, it did not affect their beauty at all.
But now these hands are starting to struggle with the ingredients.
After dinner, Yan Chenyi went to his study. He's been doing this lately, rarely contacting his manager and only occasionally going to his study, presumably to tinker with something.
Bored, Wan Ge sat down at the piano and casually played a piece.
When the piece ended, Yan Chenyi stepped down from above, and time seemed to stand still on her fingertips.
Finally, Yan Chenyi sat down next to her. Wan Ge looked at the person next to her and asked, "Are you done with your work?"
I wonder what they're secretly busy with.
