The child was brought by one of their store's VIP customers. The child bumped into her without apologizing, and his mother showed no intention of taking responsibility.
The shop assistant immediately shifted all the blame onto the older woman and started harassing her. She even berated her for being so stingy as to compensate for such an expensive bag.
The woman said she would compensate the customer, but the clerk kept nagging and saying all sorts of unpleasant things. The woman got upset and retorted a few times, at which point the clerk pushed her.
The older woman just couldn't understand. Was it really necessary to go to such lengths? She worked at a luxury store, but she wasn't the owner. Even if she were the owner, she shouldn't treat customers like that, right?
Wan Ge glanced at the middle-aged woman, then at the mother and son watching the play not far away.
Hearing the woman continue talking, the shop assistant became even more impatient: "You think you can afford to pay for it? Don't you look at yourself? Do you know how expensive that bag is? You've probably never seen so much money in your entire life."
The shop assistant still acted arrogantly. Just then, the child's mother, who had been watching the drama unfold, finally spoke up: "Alright, alright, it was my Xiao Rui who accidentally bumped into her. I'll pay for this bag."
Upon hearing what the woman said, the shop assistant immediately put on a smile, then turned around and glared at the older woman before loudly saying, "Hurry up and thank Madam Sheng, or how are you going to compensate us?"
The woman was furious; she felt incredibly angry.
The sales assistant noticed that the VIP customer had turned away again, seemingly to look at other bags.
He turned back to the middle-aged woman who was still there and urged her in a low voice, "Hurry up and leave. You can't afford to offend these rich people."
The older woman was still completely bewildered, but Wan Ge pulled her away.
At first, she really disliked the shop assistant's attitude, but as she watched, Wan Ge seemed to understand something.
"She wanted you to leave, and she said those things to prevent you from paying compensation."
The older woman, of course, realized what was happening, and sighed helplessly, shaking her head: "Perhaps it's not entirely like that."
Wan Ge was puzzled again.
The older woman didn't realize it at first, but she has now.
I was bumped into by someone, which is why I accidentally bumped into the shelf. But no matter what, it shouldn't be my fault.
However, this matter has now involved me. I suppose that woman's identity is not simple. The reason the shop assistant did that was to prevent a dispute between them.
If they really have a conflict, I'm very likely to not escape any benefits and will encounter all sorts of troubles later.
Although the shop assistant had outwardly humiliated her, it was actually to help her and prevent her from getting entangled with that woman.
The older woman explained things to Wan Ge, and Wan Ge felt a little sad after listening to her.
The truth was confirmed when Wan Ge accompanied the older woman shopping for a while longer, and when she turned around, she saw the shop assistant again; the woman with the child seemed to have already left.
The shop assistant came up to them immediately, and unlike their arrogant attitude, this time the shop assistant was much more gentle.
"I'm sorry, Auntie, did I hurt you? That child is President Sheng's son. I don't know if you've heard of XX Group, he's the son of the CEO of that group."
His wife is not someone to be trifled with. If you upset her, and she really holds a grudge, it could implicate your family.
The shop assistant saw everything clearly; she knew who was at fault. But…
The sales clerk once had a customer from a middle-class family. However, because Mrs. Sheng had her eye on the same bag, and Mrs. Sheng had chosen it first, the two had a minor argument.
As a result… because of such a small matter, Madam Sheng became unhappy, and she never saw that client again after that.
Later, I heard that it was because she had offended Madam Sheng. As a result, she and her husband both lost their jobs and were essentially blacklisted.
Although the family's RV was bought outright, and the couple has accumulated some savings over the years, this incident will affect their child's and their own future.
She knew that the old lady was arguing with her, and regardless of who won or lost, the consequences would be unimaginable. So she could only do that and let the other party have her fun. Perhaps then she wouldn't care. For so long, she had treated those who had conflicts with Madam Sheng this way, and they had all been safe and sound.
Although the Sheng family cannot completely control everything, they do hold a significant position here and are more than capable of dealing with ordinary people like them.
"I understand your good intentions, thank you so much, young lady. I'm sorry, I was just..."
"No, no, no, I should be the one apologizing. Luckily you weren't scared. Don't think too much about it. This matter will probably just pass."
"Is there no one to control her like this?"
The shop assistant sighed: "Those who are not as strong as the Sheng family can't compete with them. Those who are equally strong are definitely those who have cooperative relationships with them but don't want to offend them."
"Don't they have any mortal enemies or anything?"
"Oh, how could we possibly know such a thing?"
…
After waving goodbye to the older woman, Wan Ge left.
As she walked out of the mall, her feelings were still somewhat complicated. She had originally thought this world was very different from her own, a world where everyone was equal, but…
So, no matter what kind of world it is, it's always divided into different classes? It makes me feel a bit down.
While Wan Ge was still thinking about what had happened, a ball suddenly hit her leg. Then, a particularly arrogant child's voice rang out: "Hey, you, hurry up and pick up my ball!"
