This teddy bear is very similar to the teddy bear in Mu Xingling's room. It was one time when Mu Xingling discovered that her older sister seemed to like her teddy bear, so she prepared the same one for her, originally intending to give it to her on her birthday.
But now that her older sister is leaving her home, she's giving it to her sister in advance so that she can stay by her sister's side in her place.
Wan Ge readily accepted, patted her little cousin's head, and said thank you.
Mu Xingling was very happy that her sister liked her gift, and asked expectantly if she could sleep with her tonight.
She liked this older sister very much when she was very young. The older sister was very beautiful and had always been her goddess. Later, the older sister came to live with her. She was very happy, but the older sister didn't seem to be very happy.
Wan Ge agreed, but she packed her things quite late. By the time she finished, Mu Xingling was already asleep on her bed.
Mu Xingling covered herself with one of the blankets and slept very quietly.
Wan Ge tidied up the blankets for her a bit, then lay back down on the bed and covered herself with another blanket.
…
The next morning, since her uncle had to go to work, her cousin and aunt went home with her.
Someone comes to clean every month, so it's not dirty; it's just that some things are old.
After giving a few instructions, the aunt also left with her younger sister.
With only a week left until the New Year, Wan Ge wanted to buy some decorations to create a festive atmosphere.
Uncle had considered having her move out, but he hadn't expected it to happen so soon. When he heard that she was moving out the next day, he told her to wait until after the New Year, but in the end, he couldn't argue with Wan Ge.
However, Wan Ge agreed and said she would have New Year's Eve dinner with them.
After tidying up, Wan Ge was making lunch in the kitchen when she suddenly heard a knock on the door.
When she opened the door, she saw Chen Ji standing there. Wange hadn't expected him to come looking for her: "What brings you here?"
"Don't you want to see me?" The same words, but with the roles reversed.
"Of course not, come in, it's too cold outside." Wan Ge invited the person into her home.
Wan Ge remembered that she was cooking something in the kitchen, so she apologized and went into the kitchen.
Instead of sitting on the sofa, Chen Ji walked with him to the kitchen.
Shen Qi leaned lazily against the door, glancing at him indifferently: "You can cook?"
"You didn't expect that, did you? Want to give it a try?" Wan Ge gently curled her lips. How could she not let him try her cooking when it was such a coincidence?
"Okay." The deep, quiet voice rang out again, though there wasn't much anticipation in it.
…
The silence that followed the meal was quickly proven wrong. What kind of delicacies hadn't he eaten? Yet, the food the other person had prepared made him feel genuinely pleased.
For a moment, Chen Ji even forgot why he had come here in the first place.
After dinner, Wan Ge received a check with a large sum of money, comparable to the inheritance left to her by the original owner's father.
"What does this mean?" Wan Ge asked, looking a little bewildered as she held the check.
"I know you haven't been doing too well lately." The silent subordinate hadn't figured out why she'd come to him, but he had discovered she was facing financial difficulties. Perhaps that was why she'd contacted him.
After suddenly realizing what was happening, Wan Ge smiled.
