Not long after dinner, Wan Ge suggested taking Chu Mu'en home, but Chu Mu'en refused.
I'm already happy to have dinner with her. If I ask her to take me home, my mother will be very unhappy.
Chu Mu'en always had a driver wherever he went, so Wan Ge didn't insist. After saying goodbye to him, she returned to her own home.
…
Chu Mu'en had thought it was just a meal, and since the driver wasn't with them, his mother probably wouldn't know. But as soon as he entered the door, he saw his mother sitting on the sofa with a gloomy expression.
Even before Chu Mu'en walked over, he could clearly sense that the atmosphere was particularly strange.
"Hmm, who was the girl you ate with today? Didn't your mother tell you not to hang out with girls? Don't you remember what your mother said?" He still doesn't want to find a boyfriend, and now he dares to interact with girls.
"Mother, I..." Chu Mu'en lowered her head, her hands clenched tightly, not daring to speak loudly at all.
But... he thought of Wan Ge again. After only two short meetings, Chu Mu'en was certain that he liked her very much, so he risked being discovered by his mother and wanted to get to know her.
Chu Mu'en was quite certain that he hadn't been driven mad by his mother; he simply really liked Wan Ge, and he could tell just by looking at her.
"She's the girl I like." In the end, Chu Mu'en mustered up the courage to say these words to her mother.
He doesn't like men at all. He won't have a boyfriend, let alone marry a boy. He only likes Wan Ge, and unless Wan Ge is a man, he will never like men.
"You! You're really infuriating me!" Just as Madam Chu raised her hand, her wrist was suddenly grabbed.
"What are you doing!" Mr. Chu's deep voice was tinged with anger.
When Madam Chu looked up, she realized that her husband had returned sometime earlier than she had noticed.
Mr. Chu clenched his other hand, which was hanging by his side: "Don't tell me this is how you raise your children?"
Mr. Chu suddenly had a bad feeling. His child was very obedient, but a little timid. However, he had thought that some traits were innate, so he didn't think much of it.
His work was extremely busy, and after having children, he considered reducing his workload so that he wouldn't need to continue making the company so large.
But after the baby turned one month old, the lady confidently said that there would be no problem at all if the baby was handed over to her to take care of.
So later on, Mr. Chu really spent very little time with his child. Apart from playing with him for a while after get off work and occasionally spending a day or two with him on his days off, he devoted almost all his time to work and his wife.
The child is very well-behaved and obedient, and his grades have always been excellent. When asked if he is happy, he always answers that he is.
He always felt that his wife had raised the child very well, and that it was his honor to have such a sensible child. But he never really looked into the circumstances under which Chu Mu'en grew up.
On one hand, Chu Mu'en was his wife's only child, born after ten months of pregnancy, so she couldn't possibly hate him. On the other hand, he would come home every day except when he was away on business trips, so he never thought that Chu Mu'en would be abused.
But seeing his wife so angry today, wanting to hit the child directly, he suddenly felt uneasy.
Because he has always been strongly opposed to violent education, and he has mentioned it to his wife many times.
