"Who are you?" The woman in red had a seductive face and looked like a femme fatale.
"I've come to subdue this demon. Taking advantage of the weakness of all realms, you've come to wreak havoc on the human world. Fox demon, do you know your crime?"
"You want to convict me? Let's see if you have the ability."
When Wan Ge was fighting the fox demon, she looked at her face and felt a strange sense of familiarity: "It's you?"
"No, it's not you." The fox demon in front of them looked so similar to the fox demon they had encountered before, but that fox demon was not this strong at all. Even if she had taken her pills, she couldn't have reached her current strength so quickly.
The fox demon also realized that the other party had been dodging her attacks but had not actually hurt her. The other party's strength was clearly superior to hers, and he was just toying with her.
The fox demon felt mocked at the thought. "You! How dare you mock me!"
It was probably furious, because it immediately transformed back into its original form, a fox that had cultivated to the point of having eight tails.
Before the fox could even do anything, it was completely bound. Jing Zhong landed in the middle of the battlefield, and with a wave of his hand, all the weapons turned to ashes. He turned back to look at the enemy army: "I will not pursue this matter because you have been bewitched by the fox demon. Why don't you retreat now?"
How could ordinary people withstand the pressure of the creator god? As soon as these words were spoken, everyone else ran back to their hometowns as if their lives depended on it.
"Who exactly are you?" Why was the pressure from that man just standing there so overwhelming?
"You don't need to know." Jing Zhong glanced at it, and the little fox vanished into thin air.
"Huh? She..."
Jing Zhong's usually cold and aloof voice softened slightly when speaking to Wan Ge: "She wreaked havoc on the world; her annihilation is her punishment."
Wan Ge paused for a moment but didn't say anything more. She turned around and glanced at Xie Nanyan and a few scattered soldiers.
Xie Nanyan touched his nose: "It was my terrible miscalculation that led to this ambush."
Wan Ge shook her head: "It's not your problem. They're allied with evil spirits, so naturally you can't beat them."
Xie Nanyan looked at Jing Zhong with great curiosity, probably because he felt that Jing Zhong was a complete stranger: "Have you really become immortals?"
"I am a god, and the Jingzhong you know is my reincarnation who descended to the mortal realm to undergo tribulation." This was a past he did not want to recall.
Even though he now knows that Wan Ge hurt him not out of genuine affection, but only to complete a mission, he still dislikes that past.
Wan Ge waved to him: "Goodbye."
"Are you leaving already?" Xie Nanyan asked, watching them prepare to depart.
Wan Ge nodded.
…
When Xie Nanyan awoke again, he felt that something was missing from his memory. He only knew that the enemy had retreated and they were no longer in danger, but he couldn't remember the process in between.
He heard the sound of horses' hooves and looked up to see a woman with her hair tied up, wearing armor, standing in front of him.
Xie Nanyan quickly caught him: "Oh my, my little darling, what brings you here? Didn't I tell you to wait here and not wander off?"
Wen Yueqing hugged him tightly: "I heard you were ambushed, it scared me to death. How could I sit still?"
Xie Nanyan carefully protected her, saying, "You're due in less than two months. Only you would be so bold. Okay, everything's alright now, let's go home."
