From now on, I will be your family. (17)

Madam Gu hugged her child, never expecting that this matter would be related to her brother.

She let them off the hook out of consideration for her family, but she never expected them to gossip about her to her son.

This ultimately led to discord within her family.

It's also her fault for not keeping a close eye on her child and letting him come into contact with people he shouldn't have, which is why he turned out this way.

"Mom, you believe me, right? I didn't mean to, I didn't want to."

Madam Gu gently patted his back and hummed in agreement: "Of course Mom believes you, but now that you know everything, please don't hold grudges against your brother anymore, okay?"

Gu Yunshu remained silent, which could be considered a tacit acquiescence.

But Madam Gu's next words blew him away: "Why don't you apologize to your brother, and let's go back to how things were before and live happily together as a family?"

"I already said I didn't do it on purpose, so why do you still want me to apologize? So you're still biased towards him, aren't you?" Gu Yunshu was stunned when she said this.

"Mom, I just..." Gu Yunshu wanted to explain, but didn't know how.

Madam Gu originally thought that he had realized his mistake and would no longer have such thoughts after knowing the truth, but she did not expect that he would still think that she was biased.

"I'm sorry," Gu Yunshu apologized again, feeling helpless.

Madam Gu took a deep breath: "Think about it carefully yourself."

After saying that, she didn't want to stay there any longer, so she got up and left.

Gu Yunshu opened her mouth but ultimately didn't say anything to persuade him to stay. She slumped back in the rocking chair, still struggling with whether or not to apologize.

But at that moment, a figure suddenly appeared in his mind—it was Wan Ge…

Thinking about how Mu Jingnian had accomplished all the things he had always wanted to do in front of him, and how even the person he liked had fallen for him, he felt very resentful, and the thought of apologizing was immediately dismissed.

He can probably only stop making things difficult for him; getting him to apologize or reconcile is basically impossible.

After thinking it over, Gu Yunshu stood up and went back to her room without looking back.

This was Mu Jingnian's first time entering her home. Looking at the relatively cozy home, he suddenly felt like he was home, a feeling he hadn't had in a long time.

"Please make yourself at home." After saying that, Wange went straight into the kitchen, opened the refrigerator, and warmed up some milk.

Then she took two cups and poured the warmed milk into them.

"Don't drink tea so late at night, have some milk instead." Wan Ge placed the milk in front of him.

Mu Jingnian accepted the milk; this was the first time he had ever been served milk at someone else's house.

Wan Ge said softly, "I'm worried about you. Why don't you stay here tonight instead of going home?"

After saying that, Wan Ge put her half-finished milk on the table: "I'll go find you some clothes."

Then Wan Ge went to the guest room and took out several sets of clothes, all of which were relatively new: "When my parents came to visit before, they would stay here for a few days. These are my dad's clothes, which he hasn't worn much. Why don't you pick one to wear?"

The original owner's father and Mu Jingnian weren't that different in build, so the clothes should fit.
