I hope you won't have any more regrets~ 22

The woman snorted coldly, her tone full of disdain for Wange: "Don't think you're so great just because you've made a little name for yourself in the entertainment industry. What kind of place is this? When did it become your place to speak?"

Someone else said, "By the way, how did you get in? Did you hook up with some married man?"

They were convinced that Wan Ge was only able to get in because of someone else, perhaps because she was somewhat attractive, maybe she was someone's mistress, and was eventually invited in as a female companion.

The person had just finished speaking when he suddenly felt a chill run down his spine.

Someone coughed softly behind them. When they turned around, they saw the host of the banquet, Ye Zhi, and several other important figures they dared not offend. It was unclear who had coughed to alert them.

When Yao Jingzhi saw the old man, she obediently called him "Grandpa" again.

Ye Zhi simply walked up to Wan Ge, reached out to straighten her shawl, and then bent down to ask her if she was cold.

Wan Ge obediently shook her head, a smile in her eyes as she softly asked, "Have you finished talking?"

Ye Zhi gave a faint "hmm," but he never expected that his wife would be bullied after he had only talked about things briefly.

The person who had just spoken was completely stunned and too frightened to utter a word. It seemed that neither Wan Ge nor Yao Jingzhi were people they dared to offend.

How come I never knew that Yao Jingzhi was Jin Lao's grandson?

Just as they were about to leave without realizing it, Ye Zhi spoke up, his deep voice carrying a hint of coldness: "Let me clarify, I will not have a mistress and I cannot have a mistress. This is my legally wedded wife. Do you have a problem with that?"

Ye Zhi merely raised his eyes slightly, and the other person was already on the verge of collapsing.

The woman immediately bowed deeply and apologized profusely.

The old man simply said, "Throw them out." Then he called Ye Zhi and headed to another place.

Ye Zhi nodded, took his wife's hand, and they went together.

As Yao Jingzhi followed, she looked back once more and then sighed.

She knew those people were Manman's classmates; she had met them once or twice before, and they hadn't been very friendly to her. She didn't like them either.

After Manman and her aunt left her house, he never expected that this would involve things related to Manman again.

However, I now understand that what Wan Ge said back then was right. I was willing to let them go, but they might not necessarily change.

If she truly had any remorse, she wouldn't have allowed her friend to do something like this again. If there are no surprises, it was probably all at Manman's behest.

She had actually witnessed Manman's methods long ago. She used to think that Manman was worried that her father wouldn't treat her well because she wasn't his biological daughter, but now she realized that wasn't the case at all.

Besides wanting to please her father, what she really wanted was for him to hate her.

Looking at the absent-minded female lead, Wan Ge asked, "What's wrong? Why do you seem so distracted?"

Yao Jingzhi shook her head, not intending to tell the person in front of her what she had just learned.

Although she had a good relationship with Sister Wan Ge, it was ultimately a family matter, so there was no need to cause Sister Wan Ge any more trouble.

She never expected that helping her would lead to Wan Ge being ridiculed. How can she make amends?
