With a sweet smile on her face, Ruan Tong gently replied, "I've been quite busy with my studies lately, I'm sorry, A-Kuan."
"It's okay," Ling Kuan replied immediately, not giving it much thought even though Ruan Tong had missed several classes. He even wondered if something had happened to Ruan Tong's family and she was using this excuse to avoid making him worry.
"By the way, Kuan, I have to leave now and can't stay with you. I'm sorry." Ruan Tong's tone was somewhat aggrieved, and she seemed particularly regretful.
Ling Kuan quickly said, "It's alright, if you have something to do, go ahead."
Ruan Tong left without thinking much about it, unaware that Ling Kuan followed her out of concern.
