I wish I could be that ray of sunshine.

This is a chaotic world, a world where feudalism and modernity are intertwined. Some people still hold relatively conservative views, while others have studied abroad and been exposed to the ideas of other countries.

The body Wan Ge is currently in comes from a scholarly family; she is not someone who has returned from studying abroad.

The male protagonist of this world is Qin Shu, the youngest son of the warlord, who was sent abroad to study when he was twelve years old.

Coincidentally, the villain in this world is also the son of the warlord. The villain, Qin Yu, is the eldest son of the warlord and has been by his side since childhood.

Unlike Qin Shu, Qin Yu carried a heavy burden. Many things were bottled up inside her, and she couldn't even express many of her emotions.

Qin Yu never intended to become Qin Shu's enemy, but fate ultimately made them adversaries.

Qin Yu represented a more conservative ideology, while Qin Shu represented a new era ideology. Therefore, Qin Shu did not stay at home and later joined a group of like-minded people.

Even though Qin Yu knew Qin Shu was right, Qin Shu was often too eager to change the status quo, which could easily bring catastrophic consequences to ordinary people. Furthermore, many people cannot accept change all at once.

Qin Shu thought his brother's ideas were too outdated and conservative, but he didn't know that Qin Yu was also slowly getting others to accept them, just not as drastically as Qin Shu.

When Qin Shu truly became the one who changed the world, he was completely unaware of the immense sacrifices Qin Yu had made for him. In their final confrontation, Qin Shu accidentally killed his own brother.

This was something Qin Shu would never be able to forgive for the rest of his life, and Qin Yu, even as he and his brother collapsed opposite each other, still didn't say a word.

For Qin Yu, dying at the hands of his own family was actually a good choice.

Qin Yu had never been happy in his life, so this time Wan Ge just wanted him to feel happy and joyful.

However! Wan Ge's current status is quite awkward, because she is Qin Shu's fiancée.

In the original story, the protagonist came from a very wealthy family, a scholarly family with its own century-old business. Her father and the warlord were old friends, and they had arranged a marriage between them when the protagonist was young.

Later, due to business problems, Wan Ge's family fell into poverty. Her father didn't want her to suffer, so when Qin Shu was about to return, he brought up their engagement.

The warlord was very satisfied with his daughter-in-law, and he had helped the Su family a lot when they were at their lowest point. If he didn't know what kind of person his friend was, the warlord would have really wanted them to live with them directly.

He knew his friend was stubborn, and if he really used this method, the other person would not only not accept it, but would also likely break off their friendship.

Qin Shu already had someone he liked, whom he met on his way home. Moreover, he disliked girls with conservative ideas like the original owner of this body, so he rejected her outright and even went so far as to elope.

However, under pressure from his family, Qin Shu eventually married the original owner of the body, though he never really liked her.

The original owner had a gentle personality, and faced with this situation, she simply endured it silently without saying a word.

However, she didn't really think it was a bad thing, since she wasn't particularly close to Qin Shu. Although she didn't study outside the home, as a young lady from a scholarly family, she must have been studying at home.
