As the last bolt of lightning struck, Wan Ge stood beside him, holding an umbrella.
The jade mirror umbrella, a divine artifact that the original owner had carried with him for thousands of years, was instantly shattered into dust.
Then Wan Ge used her own power to resist, and the last bolt of lightning struck Cang Mu very lightly.
In the end, Cang Mu successfully survived the tribulation, though he nearly lost half his life.
Wan Ge also expended a lot of energy, but her body was fine. She could recover her energy quickly after a period of rest and recuperation.
"He directly became a mid-level Great Demon, not bad." With such a powerful lightning strike, Wan Ge thought he would become a high-level Great Demon, but mid-level is still excellent.
There aren't many great demons to begin with, and even fewer of them are of intermediate or higher rank.
Cang Mu could hardly believe that it had only taken him a hundred years to go from an ordinary, lowly half-demon to a mid-level great demon.
He was less than three hundred years old, and for the first hundred years or so he had been barely surviving, thinking about how not to be killed by other demons.
Another hundred years passed, and he became someone that ordinary demons dared not approach.
"Sister, are you alright?!" Cang Mu caught Wan Ge, who was about to fall, and the entire demon panicked: "Sister, what happened to you?"
Wan Ge yawned: "I'm a little tired from all the energy I've used up. I'll take a nap and then I'll take you to get revenge when I wake up."
Wan Ge hadn't forgotten that someone was hunting him down, and he couldn't let the matter rest.
Cang Mu looked at Wan Ge uneasily, but still obediently nodded.
…
Wan Ge slept for several months. If it weren't for the fact that her power was growing stronger and that she was still breathing and alive, Cang Mu would have thought she was dead.
Wan Ge slept for quite a long time, and felt full of energy when she woke up.
"Sister, you're finally awake!" Cang Mu hugged her tightly.
"Huh? What happened? You've become a high-level demon?" What's going on? I just took a nap, how did Cang Mu become a high-level demon?
Cang Mu nodded: "I'm pretty amazing, aren't I?"
Cang Mu didn't tell her that while she was asleep, those mid-level demons reappeared. One of them tried to threaten him with the sleeping Wan Ge. Cang Mu panicked at that moment, and it was then that all his potential was unleashed, allowing him to advance directly to a high-level demon and deal with those mid-level demons.
Perhaps seeing that he had gone through a tribulation, and that Wan Ge had expended too much power to protect him, they felt that they might not be able to fight back, so they became restless.
After observing for a while, they discovered that only Cangmu was active, while Wange remained missing. They assumed Wange had been severely injured while withstanding the most ferocious heavenly lightning strike and was therefore in seclusion to recuperate. Now it was their turn to step in, and they could take Cangmu away.
Unexpectedly, Cangmu was even more powerful than they had imagined. It wasn't until they discovered the sleeping Wan Ge that one of the great demons used the sleeping Wan Ge to threaten Cangmu.
Cang Mu was indeed hesitant to act rashly at first, until he realized that they had no integrity whatsoever.
Originally, he didn't want to kill these powerful demons because of his sister, but since they dared to harm his sister, he couldn't be blamed. So he dealt with all those powerful demons.
He didn't dare tell Wan Ge about this, because he knew Wan Ge was the Demon Emperor, and the Demon Emperor needed powerful demons.
