"Is that your fiancé?" The beautiful woman standing in front of Wan Ge glanced at the man downstairs who was being affectionate with the green tea girl, then looked at Wan Ge with a puzzled expression.
Wan Ge gave a cold laugh, then replied to the person in front of her, "It won't be like that for long."
"When did your taste become so bad?" Meiren still couldn't understand. As Wan Ge's friend of many years, she knew what kind of person he was all too well, so it was hard for her to imagine why someone as rational and intelligent as her would like someone like that.
Moreover, in terms of family background, the man's family was far inferior to Wan Ge's, so she could really understand why Wan Ge chose such a person.
Wan Ge felt somewhat helpless, but didn't know how to tell her friend about it.
"By the way, I heard that Chu Ji is also coming to G City. Did you know about this?"
Wan Ge shook her head: "He didn't tell me when he was coming?"
"Didn't he tell you? I thought you knew, it seems like it's a flight today."
When Wan Ge heard what she said, she picked up her phone, intending to send a message to ask, when she suddenly heard a commotion downstairs.
"Who do you think you are? Do you know who you hit? You hit our Young Master Nan!"
Who was this person before? He has a really handsome face, but I haven't seen him at the banquets before. He probably wasn't a big shot.
However, the clothes he was wearing didn't look very simple.
"That's the one I hit." Chu Ji looked at Nan Jinghe in front of him, as if he wished he could go up and tear him to pieces right now.
Nan Jinghe felt bewildered and angry at the hostile attitude of the boy in front of him: "Why aren't you sending someone to kick him out?"
Chu Ji punched him in the face again. Nan Jinghe covered his face, looking incredulous. How could this be? He had originally intended to spare his life, but he never expected that Nan Jinghe would take advantage of the situation.
"Where is he? Are they all dead? Arrest him!"
Just then, he heard the sound of high heels behind him, followed by a familiar voice: "Stop."
Wan Ge slowly walked up to the other person and stood beside Chu Ji.
Wan Ge didn't ask what had happened, nor did she show concern for Nan Jinghe. Instead, she looked at Chu Ji beside her and asked with some worry, "How are you? Are you hurt?"
Chu Ji smiled when he saw Wan Ge: "Sister, I'm fine. I missed you so much."
Chu Ji hugged Wan Ge again last night.
Nan Jinghe's face darkened instantly: "Duan Wange, is he your brother?"
Wan Ge turned to look at Nan Jinghe: "So what if it is? So what if it isn't?"
"Make him apologize to me right now! Look what he did to me!"
Wan Ge merely glanced at him indifferently and retorted, "Shouldn't you have hit me?"
Nan Jinghe seemed unable to believe that the other party would say such a thing, his eyes widening: "What did you say? Are you saying I deserved it?"
Wan Ge glanced at the other person, her expression saying, "You know what I mean."
Nan Jinghe seemed to laugh out loud in anger: "Fine, you're very clever. I want to annul the engagement."
"Hmm." Wan Ge simply hummed in response, picked up a tissue from the side, and wiped Chu Ji's sweat.
Why are you sweating so much?
Chu Ji looked at Wan Ge and said softly, "I just came from the airport, it's a bit hot outside."
Chu Ji stared intently at the person before her with her beautiful eyes. That stunningly beautiful face seemed to soften only in her presence.
Seeing the two of them acting like this, Nan Jinghe felt so angry he almost laughed: "Fine, very well. I'll call my dad right now and have him call off the engagement."
Wan Ge seemed not to have heard him at all. After wiping the sweat off the boy in front of her, she spoke softly again: "You've been on a plane for a long time, haven't you?"
Chu Ji nodded gently, then looked at her pitifully and said, "Sister, I'm so hungry. The food on the plane was awful. I only ate one bite."
"Then I'll get you some dessert."
Chu Ji shook his head: "But I don't want to eat snacks. Wouldn't it be better if you took me out to eat?"
"Okay." After answering, Wan Ge said to the girl next to her, "Yan Yan, please tell Grandpa Fan that I have to leave first."
“Okay.” Bei Xiyan nodded.
Seeing that they completely ignored him, Nan Jinghe stopped talking and turned to leave.
But he felt extremely depressed, as if he had never been treated this way before, and was therefore particularly angry.
Nan Jinghe went up to the second floor and onto the balcony, then immediately called his father.
But as soon as he brought up the matter of breaking off the engagement, the person on the other end of the phone started swearing venomously.
"Dad, am I still your son? You're scolding me like this because of a woman? I know you want me to have a business marriage with her, but I really don't like her, and nothing you say will change that."
“I’ve already told you directly, you’re not my only son. If you don’t want to marry Miss Duan, then you’re no longer the heir of the Nan family, and you don’t need to come home anymore.”
Nan Jinghe's eyes widened in disbelief: "What did you say? You want to sever our father-son relationship for a woman?"
“You have no idea how much benefit a marriage alliance with Miss Duan can bring. I can live without this son, but the marriage agreement with the Duan family cannot just end like this. As long as you agree to the marriage alliance, I guarantee that the Duan family will be yours in the future. If you don’t want the marriage alliance, then you don’t need to call me Dad anymore.”
After saying that, Mr. Nan hung up the phone immediately.
