Sitting to the side, Lin Qingjue felt a pang of sadness when she heard Wan Ge say that she was her friend. Was she just a friend to her sister?
Wan Ge replied with a smile, "I see. In that case, I won't disturb President Gu's conversation any longer."
Gu Que nodded, then turned and went into the private room. But he came out again not long after.
Gu Que sat down in front of Wan Ge: "The business partner we originally agreed to meet can't make it. Do you mind if I share a table with you? It's no fun eating alone."
Before Wan Ge could speak, Lin Qingjue replied, "I don't recommend it, brother, do as you please."
Looking at Lin Qingjue in front of her, Wan Ge could sense that he wasn't very happy, but he still agreed to Gu Que's request.
Gu Que quickly had the dishes served. The dishes had been pre-ordered and prepared before he set off, so they were served very quickly.
The table was laden with dishes, and the aroma of the food was wonderful, making one's appetite very eager to try them.
Unfortunately, Wan Ge and Lin Qingjue had already eaten quite a lot beforehand, so they only managed to have a few bites.
Wan Ge has been taking care of him the whole time.
Gu Que had the drinks brought in, took a sip of the red wine—a bottle more expensive than all the dishes on the table—and said, "Wange, your friend…"
Lin Qingjue replied calmly, "I injured my eyes when I was little and I can't see anymore."
After Lin Qingjue finished answering, he scooped up the fish from the bowl and was about to put it in his mouth when Wan Ge quickly stopped him: "Don't eat it."
Gu Que and Lin Qingjue were both stunned for a moment.
Wan Ge took the spoon from his hand, and her gentle voice rang out again: "There are thorns in it, let me pick them out for you first."
"Okay, thank you for your help, sister."
Gu Que's expression stiffened slightly. He had picked up the fish for him, intending to curry favor with Lin Qingjue.
Lin Qingjue looked too young, like she had just come of age. Thinking of Wan Ge's background, Gu Que originally thought that the friend she mentioned might just be the younger brother she grew up with in the orphanage and took care of.
But now, watching Wan Ge carefully picking out the fish bones for the other person, her eyes filled with tender care.
For some reason, he sensed that Wan Ge's feelings for him were unusual.
After removing the fish bones for the person, Wan Ge handed the spoon back to Lin Qingjue.
Lin Qingjue put the fish meat into her mouth; the tender fish meat was delicious.
…
Since leaving early wouldn't be very polite, Wan Ge didn't plan to eat too quickly. She selected some food that needed peeling for Lin Qingjue and prepared it for him herself.
So the meal was quite long. About an hour later, Gu Que had finished eating, and Wan Ge and Lin Qingjue were about to leave.
Gu Que spoke again: "Shall I take you back?"
Wan Ge shook her head again: "No need, I drove here myself. Thank you, President Gu. See you at our company."
After saying that, he took Lin Qingjue and left for the parking lot.
After the car started moving, Wan Ge finally spoke: "You clearly didn't want him to have dinner with us, so why did you agree?"
Lin Qingjue lowered her head slightly: "Isn't he my sister's boss? I don't want to put my sister in a difficult position."
When Wan Ge heard him say that, she realized that the reason why the boy did this was because of her.
“You don’t need to do this. Although he is my boss, you are the most important person to me. I care more about your feelings.”
