"I understand." Nan Sang lowered his head, his voice soft, and Wan Ge immediately sensed his grievance.
However, Wan Ge didn't immediately try to coax him; she simply gave a soft "hmm," which was rather indifferent.
"Did you call me here just to make me go back to work?" Do you just want him to continue working and become a heartless money-making machine?
Wan Ge shook her head: "I also wanted to invite you to have dinner together, and besides..."
Wan Ge paused deliberately, then looked up at him and said, "I miss you so much, I want to see you."
When Nan Sang heard "I miss you so much," her heart beat incredibly fast. All her sadness and grievances vanished instantly, and she pulled Wan Ge into a tight embrace: "I miss you too."
He desperately wanted to be there for her, but he was worried that she would be unhappy or angry, so he didn't take any action and just quietly continued to make wedding plans at home.
Wan Ge patted his head: "Alright, let's eat."
Nan Sang nodded, took her hand tightly, and they walked hand in hand to the dining table.
When she reached Mr. Nian, Nan Sang spoke softly, "I brought a gift for Uncle. It's the vase that Uncle really wanted before."
Mr. Nian enjoys collecting porcelain, especially antique porcelain with a certain age. He once had a very special antique that was in someone else's collection, and he had always wanted it, but the other party was unwilling to sell.
No one knew exactly what Nan Sang had done to get the other party to agree, but the thought of that vase soon belonging to him filled Mr. Nian with excitement.
"Good son-in-law, it has to be you." He had tried so many methods but the other party wouldn't budge, but Nan Sang managed to get it done with just one step in?
"Dad, isn't it too fast to win you over with just a vase?" Wan Ge said softly.
Mr. Nian snorted coldly: "You haven't brought it here yet? Besides, judging from your actions and reactions just now, there's nothing wrong with me considering him my future son-in-law, is there?"
"No, no, whatever makes you happy." Wan Ge could only reply with a smile, her eyes filled with helplessness but even more so with doting affection.
Seeing their warm and loving interaction, Gu Yanwan felt a strange sense of comfort.
This was a scene he had never witnessed in all his years in the Li family. It seemed that everyone in the Li family was calculating, whether they were Li Heng's closest relatives or just casual acquaintances.
Gu Yanwan once thought that all rich people were like the Li family, only caring about interests and values, and not so much about family and friendship.
Only now did Gu Yanwan understand that there are differences between people. Not all wealthy people are like the Li family.
This is what it means to have a real family, to have a father's care and concern. No wonder Wan Ge is so different, with such a good and gentle personality, who takes care of her feelings and helps her.
She also heard that Mrs. Nian had actually passed away a long time ago, but Mr. Nian had never remarried or had any mistresses all those years ago.
He was loyal only to his wife, and even after she passed away, he protected their child and loved her deeply.
Looking at Wan Ge in front of him, Nan Sang said earnestly, "Wife, I've also prepared a gift for you. I think you'll like it..."
Nan Sang hadn't found out his preferences, so everything was based on guesswork.
