The villain is omnipotent. (13)

After Xu Yan left, Wan Ge seemed to lose all her strength instantly, collapsing into a chair with trembling hands.

However… the pain in her heart forced her to raise her hand and cover her chest.

My heart aches so much, the pain is so intense that it's almost making Wan Ge wonder if there's something wrong with her heart.

She's only been with Xu Yan for less than a year, so how could her feelings for him be so deep?

At first, I only wanted to be with him because he was good-looking and had a great personality. I never expected that in less than a year, he would occupy such an important position in my life.

Just then, Wan Ge's phone, which was lying to the side, suddenly rang. The distinctive ringtone told her that the person calling her at that moment was her mother.

Wan Ge answered the phone: "Mom, what's wrong?"

Madam Lin spoke up: "I just saw Xiao Yan run out crying? Did you two have a fight?"

"You see? Where are you?"

Mrs. Lin replied, "I was downstairs at your house. Your father and I had prepared some food to bring to you, but we didn't expect to see Xiao Yan run out like that."

"We broke up," Wan Ge replied, looking down.

"What did you say! Xiao Yan is such a good person, why did you break up with him?" Mrs. Lin was particularly confused. And why did they suddenly break up? Wasn't their relationship going well before? They even arranged a time for their two families to have dinner together and set a wedding date.

Wan Ge didn't know how to start the conversation. After all, there was no concrete evidence yet, and she couldn't very well say that Xu Yan was acting strangely and that she might not survive if she married him. His mother would never believe such an absurd statement.

"I don't know how to explain it to you right now, but we've broken up."

Mrs. Lin sighed: "Alright, it's good that you've thought it through. I'm at your door now, so please open it."

…

Seeing her daughter's heartbroken state, Mrs. Lin made a phone call to her own account and stayed overnight at her daughter's house.

The next morning, I made breakfast for Wan Ge before heading home.

Unexpectedly, upon opening the door, they saw Xu Yan sitting by the door, with several wine bottles scattered around him, seemingly drunk.

"Wange, come out here for a moment." Madam Lin saw Xu Yan passed out drunk, still wearing the clothes he had worn when he ran out yesterday.

Madam Lin tried to help the person up, but at that moment the person opened their eyes, their eyes filled with defensiveness: "Who are you? Don't touch me."

Xu Yan had met Madam Lin before, but not many times. When he was sober, he might remember that she was his mother-in-law, but now that he was drunk, he was completely oblivious to his own family.

She wasn't exactly fierce, but her guarded look was rather cute. "I'm Wan Ge's mother. You're drunk. Let me help you inside."

"Wange? Wange..." At this moment, Xu Yan saw Wange walking towards the door, and immediately reached out and hugged her, his voice full of grievance: "Wife...please don't leave me, okay?"

Wan Ge gently hugged the other person, then said to her mother, "It's okay, Mom, you go back first, I'll take care of him."

"Is it really okay?" Mrs. Lin was a little worried.

"Don't worry, I can do it." Wan Ge said with absolute certainty.

Mrs. Lin was actually thinking that the two might get back together, so she decided not to be a third wheel and left.
