The villain is quite well-behaved (17)

She glanced at her husband and then at her son. Their unspoken smiles made Madam Jiang seem to understand something. It seemed that her son had a hidden side to him.

Oh, not the unique aspect.

"I was so busy talking that I forgot!" Madam Jiang handed the bag in her hand to Wan Ge: "It's our first meeting, and I didn't know what you liked. This is a gift that your aunt prepared for you."

Because she didn't know Wan Ge's size, Madam Jiang didn't prepare a nice dress for her, but instead prepared some jewelry and necklaces.

Wan Ge saw a box, and even before opening it, he already knew what it contained: a necklace that had been auctioned off for an astronomical price. He never expected that it had been bought by Jiang Si's mother.

She had originally intended to buy it as a birthday gift for her mother, but she couldn't attend due to work. The price was too high, and her assistant couldn't contact her at the time, so it ended up in someone else's hands.

To be honest, even if her assistant contacted her, the necklace had already exceeded her expectations, and she might not have continued to raise the price.

I never expected that after all the twists and turns, it would end up in her hands again, but now it has become a gift from her mother-in-law.

"Auntie knows all about it. Although our two families don't see each other often, Auntie is very familiar with your parents. We've had some collaborations over the years, so we know each other quite well. Auntie really likes you." The implication is that this family is well-off, a good match, and the daughter of a close classmate, so they are very satisfied with her.

"Auntie, let's eat first. I'll talk to my parents about having a meal together tomorrow."

"Okay." The couple had come mainly to see their son, but more so to discuss their engagement.

The two of them are going to get married. Mr. Jiang and others are definitely fine with it, but they still need to discuss various aspects.

They're not planning to have an engagement party right away, but rather discussing when and how to hold it.

Madam Jiang stood by the table, glanced at the exquisite food on it, and then at Jiang Si, who was wearing an apron: "Did you make all of this?"

Jiang Si nodded with a smile: "I made them all. Mom probably doesn't know yet. You're all so busy with work, you've never tasted my cooking."

For a moment, Jiang wondered if their work was really that busy, so busy that they didn't even have time to come home for a meal their son cooked.

In fact, their son has never cooked for them, okay? If it weren't for his pampered upbringing and the fact that he never lifts a finger to cook except when he's fighting, how could he possibly make such beautiful dishes?

Is it some kind of culinary disaster? You know, the kind that looks delicious but doesn't taste very good.

The couple looked like they had seen a ghost, but they couldn't show it in front of Wan Ge. They exchanged a glance, smiled, and sat down at the dining table without exposing Jiang Si.

Wan Ge hadn't expected Jiang Si's parents to be so busy that they didn't even have time to have a meal with him. Her father had told her that his parents' business was incredibly large, and even someone like them, with their family background, still had such sentiments. Wan Ge could almost imagine just how big their business really was.

Just like the jewelry that Wange saw fetched an astronomical price, the other party casually gave it to her along with other items of similar value, as if it were just an ordinary gift for a daughter-in-law.
