"Let's wait and see how Mother reacts, and then you can adapt accordingly." Wan Ge sensed that Madam Chu's reaction was stronger than she had imagined, and perhaps things wouldn't necessarily go according to their original plan.
After hanging up the phone, Wan Ge called someone else, who replied that everything was ready.
…
Mrs. Chu returned home feeling extremely disappointed, looking at everything familiar... This house wasn't like this at first; it gradually changed after she married into the family, and after some renovations, it finally became what it is now. She has lived in this house for over twenty years.
When she first stepped into this home, her husband was an extremely young and handsome boy. The first thought that came to her mind upon seeing him was that he was a delicate and fragile submissive.
After marriage, she discovered his abilities were extraordinary, and her mind began to conjure up images of a gentle, handsome, younger man. Now…
She met her husband's childhood friend, and she pushed him away herself.
Qu Nan said that he had actually liked her husband since he was a child, but he always thought that he didn't feel the same way. After he got married, he didn't dare to have any more ideas. Until recently, when Mr. Chu was chatting with him, he learned that their marriage was in trouble.
Moreover, he learned that Mrs. Chu had always supported her husband coming out as gay. If that was the case, why not grant her wish?
He stayed by Mr. Chu's side during his most dejected time, drinking and chatting with him. One time, after drinking, an accident happened, and afterwards, he slowly won him over.
Madam Chu thought that he never came back to the room with her again, and even after their relationship improved slightly, he didn't seem to have any intention of going back. She should have realized this back then.
All the beautiful memories she shared with her husband flooded her mind instantly. She could say that her husband was the best person in the world to her. Growing up without parental companionship had made her prone to solitude. Her husband provided her with the perfect space and the necessary companionship every day, which she hadn't appreciated.
Mrs. Chu walked dejectedly into the study, the place where he had spent the most time in the house recently.
But just as she sat down, she suddenly saw a sealed bag. Upon opening it, Mrs. Chu saw the divorce agreement inside.
He wants a divorce, and it's true... he hasn't taken good care of the child and has kept pushing him away. Now he understands and knows that wanting a divorce is normal. But why does his heart feel so heavy?
…
Wan Ge said to wait a little longer, but Mr. Chu couldn't wait any longer and went home that very night.
When he got home, he saw Mrs. Chu sitting in a chair, looking lost and dejected.
Seemingly hearing a noise, Madam Chu immediately stood up, even though there were no servants in the house.
The lights were dimmed to a warm hue, candles were lit on the table, and a bouquet of roses sat on it. The beautiful Mrs. Chu was dressed in an elegant gown, seemingly just as she had looked when they first met.
Mr. Chu was stunned when he saw this scene. He didn't understand what it meant. Was she waiting for him?
"You're back." Madam Chu slowly walked towards her husband.
Mr. Chu didn't know what his wife wanted to do, so he chose to stand still. The next second, Mrs. Chu wrapped her arms around his neck, stood on tiptoe, and kissed him.
In that instant, Mr. Chu felt his mind go blank, and he couldn't even react.
