What he wants is freedom and respect.

The old man looked at his grandson and asked, "You seem to pay special attention to Xiao Wange?"

Could it be that his little grandson likes her? What a pity! The old man sighed.

"What's wrong with Grandpa?" Hearing his grandfather's sigh, Chu Mu'en felt a little uneasy.

The old gentleman also spoke frankly: "Wange has a fiancé, and they were originally going to have an engagement banquet, but she accidentally fell and had to postpone it. We don't know when it will be rescheduled."

Chu Mu'en felt a tightness in his heart and a strange sadness. They hadn't even had a chance to say a word to each other since they were children.

"Is my little Mu'en looking to date? Should I ask your mother to introduce you to a few girls? Take your time to choose one!" The old man patted his shoulder.

Chu Mu'en immediately shook his head upon hearing this, his reaction quite strong.

Seeing his grandson's unusual behavior, the old man felt a little strange. He frowned slightly, but didn't ask anything.

Wan Ge felt that before officially announcing the engagement and helping the male lead solve his problem, she should avoid having too much contact with her minor villain to prevent future issues. So, she didn't do anything when she saw him.

After thinking for a moment, Wan Ge changed the navigation and headed to her parents' house.

The mother was pruning in the garden, while the father helped by handing her tools.

Upon hearing the noise, Madam Gong immediately turned around. Seeing her beloved daughter, she put down what she was holding and said, "Wange, why are you only coming back now? What do you want to eat tonight? Mom will make it for you."

Wan Ge has her own place to live, but she usually comes back here to eat or keep them company on Sundays when she's not working. She only doesn't come back occasionally because she's too busy.

"I went to see Grandpa. Dad, Mom, I have something I want to tell you."

“Okay, let’s go inside and talk slowly. I’ll make you a drink.” Mrs. Gong said with a smile, taking her daughter’s hand and walking back inside. Mr. Gong followed silently behind them.

Anyway, they could chat slowly, so Wan Ge obediently sat on the sofa and let Madam Gong do whatever she wanted.

After becoming a full-time housewife, Mrs. Gong often researched gourmet food and occasionally grew flowers. So, on these occasions, the father and daughter would let her do as she pleased.

Soon, Madam Gong prepared a beautiful drink and handed it to her daughter, still sitting beside her with a smile on her face.

"Wait a minute, where's mine?" Mr. Gong looked at his wife, she always did this! The little rascal's eyes are always on his wife as soon as he gets home, sob sob!

"Ah! I forgot! Never mind, just drink some plain water, I boiled it this morning."

Mr. Gong didn't speak, but looked at his wife with a wronged expression. He was very quiet, but he kept looking at Mrs. Gong.

Madam Gong, who had originally intended to ask her daughter what she wanted to talk about, finally stood up and said, "Alright, alright, I give up."

After saying that, she ran to the kitchen and quickly grabbed a low-sugar drink.

Mr. Gong has never been a fan of overly sweet things, so Mrs. Gong sometimes puts less sugar in her desserts.

Looking at the drink in his hand, Mr. Gong finally showed a satisfied smile.

"Mom and Dad, I've decided to call off the engagement with the Xiao family." Wan Ge's voice was soft; she had already prepared her explanation.

But at that moment, Mr. Gong spoke up, replying with only one sentence: "Okay."
