What he wants is freedom and respect.

"I..." Madam Chu took a step back, bit her lip, and turned to go back to her room.

It seemed his wife wouldn't say anything, so Mr. Chu could only ask his child what had happened: "Hmm, why is Mother so angry?"

Chu Mu'en is usually so well-behaved, with excellent grades and talent, so he finds it hard to imagine what his son could have done to make his wife so angry.

Chu Mu'en lowered his head and remained silent for a long time, unsure of what to say.

In that instant, all the grievances welled up, her eyes reddened slightly, and she said, "I just like girls, I don't understand... why is that wrong?"

He had seen many men with girls as their partners, and he didn't understand why he couldn't be like that, or why his mother treated him this way.

"Does 'liking girls' mean you have someone you like?" It shouldn't be the kind of thing you're doing randomly, right? My precious son doesn't seem like the type to do that.

“I have a girl I like, I really like her… I just want to be with her. But my mother only wants me to be with men.” His mother instilled this idea in him from a young age, but he didn’t like it.

The beginning was alright; Mr. Chu was wondering if his son had fallen for some unreliable girl. But when that last sentence came, Mr. Chu was completely petrified.

After so many years of marriage, Mr. Chu knew his wife quite well. He knew she liked watching those kinds of things, but he never imagined... that such a situation would occur.

To be honest, although his wife enjoyed watching it, she was already married to him and had children, and he never imagined she would actually love him that much...

"You said your mother wants you to be with a boy? When did this start? Who does she want you to be with?" I never knew such a thing. It seems I am a very negligent father.

Chu Mu'en didn't answer, but judging from his expression, Mr. Chu knew it must have taken quite a while. He probably knew the child didn't want to talk, so he didn't force him.

Finally, Mr. Chu patted his son's head and said, "As long as the person you like won't hurt you, whether it's a boy or a girl, you'll have your father's support."

He supports his child's freedom to choose his own partner and supports everything about his child.

Chu Mu'en didn't know what her parents had talked about at the beginning, but even with such good soundproofing, she could still hear their argument, though some parts were not very clear.

In the end, all I heard my father say was, "You're really crazy," before he slammed the door and left.

Chu Mu'en hid in the corner of the bed, hugging the blanket tightly, at a loss for what to do. It was the first time he had heard his parents arguing.

Moreover, because he dislikes interacting with people, his knowledge in this area is weak, and he doesn't know how to comfort others; he just cowers in a corner in fear.

Mr. Chu walked into the garden, feeling the cool night breeze. He sat down in a chair and sighed deeply, never imagining his wife could be so stubborn.

He didn't even need to investigate; he already knew from his wife that she had been planning to have the child killed since he was a child…

When Chu Mu'en began to have any slightly wrong ideas, his wife would ruthlessly nip them in the bud. This is probably why her son developed such a timid personality; it wasn't something he was born with.
