Chapter 206 The Last Witch (11)
Gypsies believe in witchcraft, divination and curses.
Many people also believe that they have terrifying special abilities.
But in fact, most of them were just some inexplicable natural phenomena of their time. Coupled with the lack of information flow, many exaggerated rumors were spread.
There might have been wizards among the Gypsy people in the past, but now... just as the old woman who gave the necklace to Tokiho said, the tradition has long been lost.
So Shisui used a little trick to coax the 12 gypsy women in the warehouse.
The fans' enthusiastic admiration for her is unstoppable.
Shisui asked them seriously, "Who among you wants to leave here? And who wants to stay?"
As a result, more than half of the people said that they were going crazy because of being locked up here, and they were simply unable to get around the strict guards.
Four of them felt that there was nothing wrong with committing themselves to a nobleman. They had had enough of the wandering life and thought it would be a good idea to try enjoying the pleasures of sex with a white noble man.
The two groups of women had different opinions, but they did not interfere with each other and no one intended to convince the other.
It also fully demonstrates the free and unrestrained culture of the Gypsies.
Tokiho pursed her lips.
She respects everyone's ideas.
"Those who don't want to leave can stay. As for the rest of you, I have the ability to help you leave. But not today, and not tomorrow..."
Shisui first laid things out and explained everything clearly to everyone.
"I came into the manor for another purpose. Now let's discuss something. Can everyone stay quiet for a few days and not try to escape again? When the time is right, I will let you leave safely."
There was no need for discussion at all; everyone agreed in unison.
In their eyes, Tokiho is like a god.
…
In the following week, under Tokiho's leadership, no gypsy woman tried to leave the warehouse again.
Walter's life was easy and happy, and he began to look upon Shisui, the peasant woman whom he had originally had no hope for, with a new respect.
The girls were fine, but the guards patrolling outside the warehouse fell ill one after another.
A small number of the guard team consisting of dozens of people fell down one after another.
And each of them has different symptoms.
Some had diarrhea, some had dizziness and fever, and some had rashes... The doctor examined them and ruled out the possibility of plague, and could only generally explain it as a coincidence.
All of this was naturally caused by Shi Sui.
When Watt got the news, he took his entourage to inspect the situation.
He stood outside in the yard.
In broad daylight, the warm sun shines on the earth, and the surroundings are filled with the chirping of insects and birds, creating a peaceful atmosphere.
But Walter always felt cold and weird.
He asked the guards, "Has there been anything unusual in there recently?"
"We didn't think anything was wrong, but..." The guard hesitated, "But the workers who deliver meals every day said they saw the girls sitting in a circle on the ground, their hands raised above their heads, speaking in a language we couldn't understand, as if they were performing a strange ritual..."
After hearing this, Walter frowned.
He asked the guard to open the warehouse door.
At first glance, he saw Shi Sui standing straight behind the door with a confident smile on his face, as if he had calculated that the person coming must be him.
Maybe it was because the smell in the warehouse was not good, Walter felt a little dizzy as soon as he came in.
He took out a handkerchief, covered his mouth and nose, and looked around the warehouse.
All the gypsy women are healthy and still as beautiful as ever.
Walter didn't think there was anything special, so he took two steps back and waved to Shisui to come out and ask questions.
"Guards are falling ill one after another... Do you have any explanation?"
Walter was two or three meters away from Shisui, and he was afraid that she might have contracted some strange disease.
Shi Sui chuckled: "No way? There's such a big yard between us. If someone outside falls ill, what does it have to do with me? Could it be that I know witchcraft... If you're worried, you can come in and stay with us for a night and see if it's me who made them sick?"
"How dare you! Who told you to speak to Mr. Walter so rudely?!" Walter's follower stepped forward and scolded.
"Never mind. Whether you're just being mysterious or you really have some sorcery, as long as you can keep those gypsy women under control and prevent anyone from getting killed, I won't interfere with anything else."
Walter had no real evidence and didn't quite believe the story of demons.
He put on a condescending attitude, raised his hand, asked his followers to leave, and turned and left.
Shi Sui shrugged and said goodbye to Walter loudly: "Butler, be careful on your way back and take good care of yourself!"
Walter turned around and glared at her in confusion.
…
That night, something happened.
Without any warning, Walter suddenly developed a high fever in the middle of the night. His forehead felt as hot as a branding iron and his breathing became extremely rapid.
He woke up from his sleep, climbed out of bed with difficulty, opened the door of his room, collapsed to the ground, and asked for help from the servants in the corridor.
Everyone panicked and wanted to call a doctor.
The next second, Walter clutched his throat with both hands, screamed in pain, foamed at the mouth, and his limbs twitched.
Then he fainted.
