A majestic general

"The Empress has left the palace."

Dou Shiliu was taken aback, her cold, beautiful brows furrowing sharply. This kid had dumped a whole bunch of national affairs on her and then gone off to play?

Why didn't you bring it up with me?

The servant trembled even more, then prostrated himself, stammering, "The Empress instructed me to wait here for the Prince, and to inform him after he has finished dealing with state affairs."

This female lead…

An impatience flashed in Dou Shiliu's eyes. He snorted coldly and turned to leave.

The people below quickly rose to see him off.

"Bring the Empress back in three days at most."

Dou Shiliu turned to the side and whispered, and the guards who had been hiding in the shadows immediately obeyed the order.

He rubbed his forehead, feeling a headache coming on. He hadn't expected the female lead of this world to be so unreliable, leaving without a word. There was still a lot of work waiting for her in the palace; she was truly a worry.

"Your Highness, shall we return to the Prince's residence?"

The servant stood to the side, head bowed and eyebrows lowered, and asked softly.

"Um"

The servants immediately went to prepare the carriage.

In the Hongluan Palace, only the Empress and princes were allowed to ride in cars.

Dou Shiliu lifted the curtain and sat in the sedan chair.

"Host, let's wander around the palace; we might just run into the cannon fodder boss."

Dou Shiliu lowered his eyes, this seemed unreasonable, and then ordered his servants to wander around the palace a few times.

The servants were puzzled, but they did as instructed.

Under a hibiscus tree, several hostages chatted idly, while servants carried lanterns nearby.

Others, to show their sincerity, sent princes from other countries into the palace to become the empress's husbands.

"It's so incredibly boring living in this secluded palace."

A boy who looked to be just over twelve years old was resting his chin on his hand and sighing on the stone table.

"I've heard that Prince Qiu brought several minor officials who are skilled in singing and dancing with him this time. Could they perform for everyone to entertain us?"

Qiu Xi paused slightly, her hand holding the pastry faltering. She then put it down, wiped her slender hands with a white chrysanthemum-embroidered handkerchief, and chuckled softly.

"Your Highness, you jest. Those minor officials are only for Her Majesty the Empress to see. How could I possibly invite them in private..."

The little prince lay listlessly on the table.

"Why are you afraid to do anything? You have to ask Her Majesty the Empress about everything. You have no freedom at all..."

He felt uneasy; he still hadn't seen what the Empress looked like...

The servant accompanying him immediately poured him a cup of tea, subtly reminding him...

"Young master is still young, and Her Majesty the Empress is extremely busy with state affairs. She treats us to good food and drink. How can we not be free? Don't you agree, young master?"

This time, the young prince cleverly covered up his mistake and then remained silent.

Qiu Xi smiled without saying a word. This child still acts like he's at home, saying whatever he wants.

"Huh...is that Her Majesty the Empress?"

Watching the passing car, Di Shen couldn't help but ask in confusion.

Only the Empress could drive a carriage around the palace so recklessly.

"No, it's His Highness the Prince."

Qiu Xi stared fascinated at the passing car. He had once met the prince by chance, and his aura was simply astonishing.

This woman laid the foundation for a matriarchal society.

Truly admirable

"stop"

A soft, melodious female voice suddenly rang out.

The carriage stopped in front of the group of princes. Qiu Xi's expression was calm, but the hand holding the white handkerchief tightened slightly.

Dou Shiliu lifted the curtain and glanced at the boys below.

The young prince stared blankly at the woman in the carriage.

Her slender figure, the breeze scattering her fine hair, her beautiful eyebrows, and her cold, sharp glance at him held a chilling light like a dagger.

His eyes, dark as a deep pool, swirled and flickered, revealing a languid expression that held a cruel disdain for all living beings as mere ants. Yet, deep within those eyes lay absolute ruthlessness and coldness.

The young prince immediately froze, too nervous to look up.

Qiu Xi only glanced at it before kneeling down to pay her respects.

"May Your Highness be well."

bowing

The other princes also seemed to be in a dream, and then bowed.

Dou Shiliu looked at them all, and none of them were cannon fodder. She found it all incredibly boring.

He withdrew his gaze, turned, and entered the sedan chair.

Only after the car had driven far away did Qiu Xi and the others get up.

Watching the car disappear into the distance, Qiu Xi seemed to be lost in thought...

After touring the palace, Dou Shiliu left without any system notification.

Back at the Prince's residence, the servants began to attend to her.

"Pass dinner"

She spent a long time reviewing memorials and didn't even eat dinner.

"yes"

The servants quickly brought up dinner, and after Dou Shiliu finished eating, he asked someone to prepare a bath.

Lying in the huge pool, Dou Shiliu's proud figure was hidden in the water and shrouded in mist.

Feeling all her fatigue instantly dispelled, Dou Shiliu, her black hair flowing freely, sat in the jade pool.

"Let's look again tomorrow."

The cannon fodder lord still hasn't been found; Dou Shiliu thinks he's probably outside the palace.

The white ball remained silent, trembling with fear.

After Dou Shiliu finished bathing, the servants dried her hair, helped her to bed, and then turned off the lights to keep watch.

The next day, Dou Shiliu was handling important matters in his study when several figures suddenly appeared on the open ground.

"My Lord"

Dou Shiliu picked up his pen to write, without raising his head even slightly. Only after writing a few words did he casually open his mouth.

"how?"

"The Empress is back"

Dou Shiliu put down his pen, slightly raised his eyes, and casually spoke.

"Go down and collect your reward."

"Thank you, Your Majesty. However, the Empress has brought back a servant."

After hesitating for a moment, the subordinate finally spoke.

"He is a spy for a fallen nation."
