I am actually a peach

Dou Shiliu did not hold a wedding ceremony with Tao Yaoyan. She felt that it would be better to wait until he went to the Heavenly Court. Anyway, he was under her watchful eye and wouldn't run away. Tao Yaoyan didn't know much about these things and didn't care. For him, being able to spend all his time with Dou Shiliu was enough to satisfy him. He was so happy that he was completely lost.

That day, Dou Shiliu wasn't by Tao Yaoyan's side, as if she had something to do and left him to play by himself.

A lingering melancholy hung between Tao Yaoyan's brows. Xiao Cao seemed to be really, really busy lately.

"Sigh..." Tao Yaoyan stood on the bustling street, his delicate face completely exposed. His slightly furrowed brows made passersby want to smooth them out and offer him their best gifts to make him smile...

Two unmarried young women whispered to each other, occasionally stealing glances at Tao Yaoyan across from them, using their embroidered handkerchiefs to cover their eyes as they stole a look at him.

"Go!" The girl in the green skirt shoved the girl in the white skirt next to her.

"Don't push me..." the woman in the white dress said coquettishly, then walked over shyly.

"Young master..." A slightly bolder, graceful young woman, blushing, hesitated and approached him. "Young master... what... troubles you?"

Upon hearing this, Tao Yaoyan turned to look and saw a young woman. He shook his head and said, "I am sorry to trouble you, Miss. I have no worries."

He was just missing the little grass.

The woman in the white dress clearly didn't believe him. Looking at his furrowed brows, she felt a pang of heartache, wondering what could be troubling him so much.

"Young master, you may speak to me if you have any concerns. My aunt is the current emperor's empress," the woman in the white dress said, her face displaying an arrogance unmatched by others as she spoke of her family background.

Because of this relationship, she's treated like a princess here; countless people fawn over her.

Tao Yaoyan ignored it, as it had nothing to do with him. However, he could still sense the goodwill in the words of the somewhat proud woman in front of him.

"Thank you for your kindness, young lady. I have other matters to attend to, so I'll be leaving now." Tao Yaoyan nodded to her and turned to leave, but unexpectedly, the woman in the white dress reached out and was about to grab his collar.

Tao Yaoyan's eyes flickered, and she dodged away, saying, "Please have some self-respect, young lady."

The woman in the white dress blushed. When she saw Tao Yaoyan leave, she was so anxious that she reached out to grab him without thinking about the difference between men and women.

"Young master, I'm so sorry... I..." the woman in the white dress said anxiously, her face flushed, "I just wanted to ask if you are married?"

Both his words and his actions just now were astonishing.

Tao Yaoyan's throat tightened. Although he and Xiaocao had long been in love and had silently become partners, Xiaocao never seemed to have told him that she wanted to marry him...

Seeing that Tao Yaoyan hesitated for a moment without speaking, the woman in the white dress was delighted: "Young master, what do you think of me?"

She was confident in her looks; after all, her aunt was a famous beauty, so she naturally couldn't be much less attractive.

You should know that her doorstep was worn down by suitors, but she had very high standards and rejected all these noble young men.

"Already married," Tao Yaoyan thought, "isn't that just getting married?" She would go back and perform the wedding ceremony with Xiaocao.

"...Is that so?" The woman in the white dress, whose previously arrogant expression had been hurt by Tao Yao Yanzhi's words, dimmed her eyes and spoke somewhat stiffly, "Then I wish you a long and happy marriage, young master..."

"I apologize for disturbing you," the slender woman in the white dress bowed to Tao Yaoyan, then gently wiped away a few tears with her embroidered handkerchief before leaving.

The woman in the green skirt gazed at them, and seeing her friend return, she quickly took her hand, "How was it?"

"I finally found someone I liked, but it turns out he's already married."

Upon hearing this, the woman in the green skirt sighed. That young man had an extraordinary bearing and didn't seem like a married man at all.

She had no choice but to give up. She knew her friend's judgment. Now that she had finally met someone, he was already married. As a woman of noble birth, she must be heartbroken.

She comforted her friend as she left, saying, "There will be more..."

…

"Little Peach?"

In a daze, Tao Yaoyan heard someone calling him. His eyes fell on a small wine stall where an old man was eating peanuts. There was a pot of wine on the table, and the old man was staring at him intently. Then he got off the table and walked away from him.

"Little Peach, it really is you!" The carefree old Taoist priest excitedly tried to pat Tao Yaoyan on the shoulder, but Tao Yaoyan dodged him.

"Who are you?" Tao Yaoyan asked in confusion.

Hearing that Tao Yaoyan obviously didn't recognize him, the carefree old Taoist wasn't annoyed. He said with a grin, "I saved your life back in Peach Blossom Spring."

If Dou Shiliu were here at this moment, he would definitely say expressionlessly, "It was clearly me who was planning to save them, but you, this old man who appeared out of nowhere, stole the credit!!"

Upon hearing this, Tao Yaoyan suddenly recalled that when he was still a human, he was targeted by a snake spirit and then rescued by a ragged old man. He never expected that the old man was actually a wild immortal.

Tao Yaoyan bowed respectfully and said, "Greetings, old Taoist. I thank you for saving my life back then."

The carefree old Taoist laughed heartily: "Indeed, only the unique immortal peach in this world has such a divine appearance. I could tell at a glance."

Tao Yaoyan chuckled; this time, he forgot to conceal his appearance.

Changing the subject, the carefree old Taoist asked in confusion, "Why is Little Peach wandering alone in the mortal world? And why does she seem so absent-minded?"

Tao Yaoyan was slightly taken aback. Was it that obvious? Everyone could see that he was absent-minded.

"I was just bored and came here to observe human relationships and customs."
