Sweat poured down their faces, and Liu Yi finally couldn't stand the heat any longer. He reluctantly let Duo Xi pass the time, and then they packed up and went back to the old house to film the next scene.
Duo Xi also kept her head down, feeling a little depressed, and picked up the script to think about the character Gu Ying again.
"Duoxi, why don't you go in and rest for a bit? If you're not feeling well, the director will yell at you again."
A young woman came out as a staff member and, seeing that she was still standing outside, spoke up.
"Go and take a rest."
She patted Duoxi on the shoulder, then turned and left; she was going to buy something.
I was so thirsty!
Duo Xi lowered her eyes, her hand holding the script suddenly clenched tightly, but the moment she looked up, she smiled sweetly and walked into the house.
Director Liu Yi gave the staff ten minutes to rest, and when Duo Xi came in, he went to talk to her and offered her some words of encouragement.
Filming has officially begun.
"Actors, get ready. Also, get the cold water towels we'll be using later ready."
Director Liu, holding a megaphone, shouted throughout the set, "Check your shoes for anything inside!"
The staff were busy with various tasks, bringing in wooden basins.
"Alright, director, all the props are ready."
Director Liu nodded
"Filming begins"
The camera gives the antique-style building a special effect, then pulls the camera from outside the window into the bed.
Ci Nian was covered in sweat, his brows were furrowed, his eyes were closed, and he looked as if he had been greatly frightened in his sleep.
Surprisingly
"No..." Ci Nian gasped for breath, her eyes wide open, her breathing rapid.
"woke up"
Gu Ying sat on a chair to the side, rocking back and forth. The chair seemed to have a body of its own, remaining stable no matter what she did.
Ci Nian was drenched in sweat, her palms sweating profusely. Seeing the woman reappear before her, she couldn't help but feel a surge of anger.
"Are you a human or a ghost? Where is Nobleman Kinomiya?"
Thinking of Mu Gongyi, Ci Nian suddenly raised her hand and touched her neck with Jasmine. The slight touch made her frown.
"Hiss..." He touched it slightly, and felt a sharp pain.
His neck was still a bluish-purple, the marks left from being strangled earlier.
Gu Ying ignored her, then stood by the table, staring at her indifferently: "Mu Gongyi?"
"Dead"
The woman uttered those two words so calmly that Ci Nian felt a chill run through her entire body.
Her lips were a little pale, and her face looked somewhat haggard.
"What...are you talking about...?"
Gu Ying suddenly stood up and walked closer to her. Ci Nian couldn't help but clutch the quilt tightly, her breath catching in her throat.
As the woman approached, her delicate, long eyelashes seemed to brush against her face, and Gu Ying's pink lips opened and closed.
"She tried to strangle you, so I strangled her instead."
Gu Ying sat up slightly, glanced at the stunned Ci Nian, and couldn't help but smile. She really didn't understand why this woman had such an expression.
Why did you kill him?!
Ci Nian gasped for breath, her eyes glaring angrily at the nonchalant woman before her.
"You'd better remember this..." Gu Ying's eyes turned cold, as if she were staring directly into Ci Nian's deepest fear, filled with ruthless contempt.
"I'm trying to help you..."
The woman's voice lingered in Ci Nian's ears, echoing for a long time.
Ci Nian's pupils contracted, and her expression involuntarily calmed down. Only when she tasted the strong metallic flavor of copper in her mouth did she release her lips in pain.
A corner was broken.
Gu Ying glanced at her with a self-pitying look, then leisurely sat back down in her chair.
Pain flashed in Ci Nian's eyes
"Why...why did you help me...?"
