Chapter 16 The Mother Driven Mad

After Ping An sent Lingling to an early childhood education center, Liu Qian began to observe Zhang Yuefen's expression, especially after Xie Yuan's illegitimate son, Xie Tianci, also arrived.

She got angry when she saw Zhang Yuefen's pleading look. Why was her grandson more precious than her granddaughter? How could she be so willing to hurt her granddaughter for the sake of her son and grandson?

She got angry when she thought about what Xiaxia had said about the old woman deliberately feeding Lingling foods she was allergic to. People like that should lose everything.

"Who are you looking at? Someone you know?" Liu Qian suddenly moved closer to Zhang Yuefen and asked this deliberately.

Zhang Yuefen was startled, her eyes darting away, and she loudly defended herself: "Who else could I be looking at? Of course, I'm looking at my dear granddaughter."

"Lingling has been inside for quite a while now. Do you know that boy? I must say, he looks a bit like Brother Xie."

"What nonsense are you talking about? How is it similar?" Zhang Yuefen was afraid that Liu Qian would discover something, so she haphazardly blocked her way.

So Liu Qian looked away and shrugged, saying, "That's true, how can ordinary Tom, Dick, or Harry compare to Brother Xie?"

These words infuriated Zhang Yuefen. Xie Tianci was her long-awaited grandson, how could she tolerate a little girl calling him a nobody?

So he yelled, "Is this the politeness of someone who's been to school? You're so ill-mannered! What did that little kid do to offend you? You're the cat and dog, your whole family are cats and dogs!"

"I was just saying it casually, Aunt Zhang, why are you getting so worked up?" Liu Qian raised an eyebrow nonchalantly and casually found a seat to sit down.

This made Zhang Yuefen even angrier, and she wished she could tear her apart.

"Move aside, I want to sit here." She slapped her hand down, her voice crisp and clear.

Liu Qian winced in pain. Is this guy crazy?

Okay, sit if you like.

"Mom, let's go shopping."

The mother and daughter left together. Anyway, this early education institution is very strict. Without a pass and facial recognition double authentication, you can't take the child away. There's no need to worry about Lingling's safety at all.

Since Zhang Yuefen wants to wait, let her wait and see how long she can keep waiting.

Aunt Liu and her daughter Liu Qian have low daily expenses. With their previous savings and the generous salary offered by Song Xia, they don't usually treat themselves badly. In addition, Song Xia gave them a VIP card before they went out, so after shopping, they went for a relaxing foot massage and had plenty of energy.

In early childhood education institutions, teachers also arrange for children to take a nap at noon. So when Lingling finishes class, only Zhang Yuefen, who has been waiting and unwilling to miss the opportunity, is listless.

Aunt Liu then asked politely, "Sister Zhang, why don't you go back and rest first?"

"I came here specifically to be with my Lingling, what rest?" She said this insincerely and went to hug her, but she stumbled.

Liu Qian immediately hugged her tightly: "Let's not fall. If you and Lingling get hurt, we won't be able to explain ourselves."

"I'm fine, it was just an accident." She tried to grab it, but she was no match for Liu Qian's strength, and she almost fell over herself.

Liu Qian seized the opportunity and said, "I told you, Aunt Zhang, you shouldn't force yourself. You can't even stand up straight, and you still want to hold the baby. People who don't know you dote on Lingling, but they'll think you're going to cause some kind of accident."

She was implying something, and Zhang Yuefen herself felt guilty, so she didn't press the matter further.

Turning attention to something else: "Lingling, you must be hungry after a long day of classes. Grandma specially cooked some porridge for you before she left."

"I'm not hungry. The teacher gave us some snacks earlier," Lingling said, shaking her head in refusal.

Liu Qian quickly added, "We're going to the amusement park now. Xiaxia ordered a children's meal for Lingling, so she can eat that later."

“She just wastes money,” Zhang Yuefen criticized immediately. “What kind of children’s meal is that? It’s just junk food, expensive and not tasty at all. How can she be a mother? How can she not care about her child at all?”

Lingling pursed her lips, unhappy, but mustered her courage to retort, "Mom is the best mom in the world."

"What do you know?" Zhang Yuefen rolled her eyes, implying, "You'll understand later that only your father can give you the best."

Liu Qian was furious. How could this old woman be so vicious? How could she say such things to a child? And how could she be so confident in her son? Be careful she doesn't fall flat on her face and end up with nothing.

"What's the best? If Lingling wants the stars in the sky, does Brother Xie think he can pluck them down for her? Aunt Zhang, are you really doing this for the good of the family, or do you want Brother Xie and Sister Xia to fight? Isn't it inappropriate to say these things to Lingling?"

She retorted bluntly: "Besides, what's wrong with eating a children's meal? Can one meal really affect one's health? You've always taken good care of Lingling's diet, but I heard that Lingling used to be frequently sick?"

"You!" Zhang Yuefen was so angry that she couldn't speak, wishing she could sew Liu Qian's mouth shut with a needle.

Liu Qian ignored her and, after reporting to Song Xia, took Lingling directly to the amusement park.

As soon as they entered, before Zhang Yuefen could say anything, the two started playing wildly. At first, they could barely keep up, but soon their stamina began to give out.

Aunt Liu said apologetically, "I'm a little worried about the two of them. Sister Zhang, are you sure you can manage on your own? If you can't walk anymore, just sit here and rest. If you need anything, you can contact the staff here. I'll go find them now."

"Hey...you..." Zhang Yuefen hadn't even finished speaking when Aunt Liu disappeared, making her roll her eyes in anger.

"Auntie, are you alright? Should we call an ambulance?" A young man noticed that she looked unwell and kindly stepped forward.

She was in a bad mood when she opened her mouth and yelled, "Call me grandma and get lost!"

"You're crazy." The young woman retorted after being insulted for her kindness. As a result, fewer people gathered around her, and even the two staff members who were about to come over just watched from a distance without approaching.

In this day and age, old age doesn't automatically equate to respect. After all, bad people also grow old, just like her.

"Those two sluts did it on purpose." After resting for a while, Zhang Yuefen finally came to her senses, so she stopped bothering to look for them and just waited at the door.

After the three of them had finally had their fill of playing, Zhang Yuefen finally found an excuse and stepped forward with a smile: "You must be tired from playing, and hungry. Here, thankfully Grandma prepared some food early this morning."

"Oh, it's been a whole day, and it's the middle of summer. Is it safe to eat? Don't let it upset their stomachs." Liu Qian started making excuses again. "Aunt Zhang, children's stomachs are the most sensitive. You have to be very careful about what they eat."

Zhang Yuefen panicked: "They haven't even stayed overnight, what's wrong with them?"

"Just to be on the safe side, it's best not to eat it. Besides, Lingling is sleepy."

Upon hearing this, Lingling immediately closed her eyes and obediently leaned on Liu Qian's shoulder, which made her grandmother so angry that she fell backward.

So she was tricked all day and didn't achieve her goal? How is she going to explain this to her son?
