Chapter 234 Apocalyptic Zombie Mom

This is a zombie with a completely white body; you can only see a single dot in the center of its eyeballs.

Song Ziqing was immediately startled and screamed, then looked at Song Xia nervously.

"What if Song's mother can't beat him?"

"No, it won't happen." Song Ziying clenched her fists, just then she saw Song Ziming and the others getting out of the car in front of her.

"Let's go inside the building for a while. Ziying, you protect everyone as you go up."

Because Song Xia was fighting with the zombie, no other zombies appeared in the vicinity, so it was relatively safe.

“Okay.” Song Ziying did not hesitate. It was not easy for them to survive in this apocalypse. What they needed most was obedience, not questioning. They had watched TV. Many times, those people in TV dramas were wiped out because they disagreed and missed opportunities.

"People!" Song Zile grabbed Song Ziqi. Before they could react, two men appeared in front of them.

Upon seeing the group of children, the other party was quite surprised: "Kids, this area is not safe."

Song Ziqi said warily, "We're waiting for someone here."

The two had clearly noticed the battle outside, and their expressions changed: "Is that outsider fighting zombies your parent?"

The children didn't respond, and the two men, as if they had already made up their minds, muttered, "No wonder."

Survival in the apocalypse is not easy, especially with so many children to care for; you obviously need real skills.

Seeing that they remained silent, the two men were in no hurry to leave: "We are from the White Tiger Base. If you need anything, you can seek refuge at our base. The base is guarded by soldiers. After the apocalypse, a new set of rules has emerged. Anyway, as long as you are not lazy, you will always have food to eat. Moreover, someone as capable as your elder can even be a leader in the base."

"This is a decision for Mom and my older brother. Thank you for telling us this news."

“Surviving in this apocalypse is not easy for anyone. The environment is getting worse and worse, and the spark of humanity must be preserved.” Although the man said this, there was not much light in his eyes. The establishment of the base was supposedly to preserve the spark, but the women and children were often the ones with the highest probability of death.

Song Ziqi nodded, still not saying much, and led Song Ziying and the others into a room, then closed the door and nervously looked out the window.

At this moment, Song Ziming joined the battle. He was the strongest lightning-type ability user and had a restraining effect on zombies. However, this zombie was the strongest he had ever encountered. He was almost caught several times. If it weren't for Song's mother's timely intervention, he might have been torn to pieces on the spot.

Only now does Song Ziming clearly realize that his abilities are still far from sufficient, and that he is far from being able to protect his younger siblings.

Little did he know that those secretly observing him were astonished, especially considering his age—he looked like he hadn't even grown up yet—while his superpowers were already more powerful than most people in the base.

"It would be great if we could recruit such talent into the base."

"He must be the eldest of those kids, and the woman completely covered up must be their mother, right?"

"Old Zhao, can you tell what kind of superpower this woman has?"

"To be able to send that evolved zombie flying with a single punch, could it be some kind of superpower related to strength?"

"Do you remember there was a strength-type ability user in the base? That ability user was nearly two meters tall, with particularly developed muscles in both arms, and his weight was probably more than three times that of this woman, but he didn't look that powerful to me."

“I’ve fought him before, and he’s definitely not as good as this lady. If we can recruit her into our base, our strength will be greatly enhanced.”

“Look at those kids from earlier, their complexions were fair and rosy, and their clothes were clean and tidy. They didn’t seem like they needed to rely on the base to survive.”

The two of them were somewhat disheartened as they spoke: "Let's give it a try, what if? At least we still have vegetables in our base. In this weather, meat can be used to hunt mutated animals, but vegetables are hard to find."

When talking about vegetables, one has to mention the benefits of the base. Although the strong are respected, those with special skills can still live a good life.

At their White Tiger Base, a few agronomists, along with several wood-type ability users, established a planting base. Although the variety and yield of vegetables were not very high, with a little effort, they could still eat vegetables once or twice a week.

The two continued to watch the fight outside, and only then did they suddenly realize why this zombie hadn't summoned any ordinary zombies.

"Could it be because even ordinary zombies are afraid of this woman? But aren't they mindless? How could they instinctively sense danger?"

"I don't know, let's see."

Song Xia became ruthless. Her consciousness had not fully recovered. It was an instinct. In this place, only she, a strong person, could appear. Otherwise, the safety of the little ones would be threatened.

"Hah!" The mutated zombie bared its fangs, its breath forming a small whirlwind, seemingly carrying an aura of decay and destruction.

Song Ziming felt like his stomach was churning, and he couldn't help but bend over and vomit.

Song Xia was furious. How dare this brat bully her! He's asking for it!

"Hah!" she yelled back, even shattering a nearby window.

The two men started whispering again: "It looks like psychic abilities again."

"Aren't psychic abilities only something that exists in research?"

"You believe them just because they say that? How did you figure out the term 'psychic ability' without actually seeing it?"

The man was startled, then sighed softly. There are still many secrets in the base. If they are all for the development of humanity, then it's fine. But I'm afraid that before the crisis of humanity is over, they will start fighting for power.

Perhaps it is because humanity has committed too many evils that natural disasters have occurred one after another. This winter is not over yet, and who knows how many more people will die.

"Hah!" Song Xia moved forward at lightning speed, and Song Ziming could even see the afterimages of the scene of fighting with the evolved zombie.

Vehicles on the street were smashed, and even sturdy buildings were dented.

The opponent bent Song Xia's arm, but Song Xia also pierced its chest at the same time.

Taking advantage of its weakness, Song Ziming ingested a crystal core, which triggered a thunderbolt that struck the mutated zombie squarely on the head.

But it wasn't dead yet; it just looked even more terrifying. It ran towards Song Ziming with its mouth wide open, but Song Xia intercepted it halfway with an iron chain and slammed it to the ground. Then Song Xia leaped up and, with incredible speed, pulled out a steel knife that had fallen to the side and plunged it straight into the mutated zombie's head.

"Roar!" Song Xia stood on the roof of the car, declaring her status to the zombies in the area.

"So fast!"

"What exactly is her special ability?"

"Let's go down and take a look."

After the commotion subsided, the people hiding nearby popped out one after another. Some wanted to recruit Song Xia, while others wanted to seek her protection.

Song Ziming quickly helped Song's mother put on a mask and sunglasses; he didn't trust anyone now.
