"So many batteries, we've struck gold!"
Today they arrived at a chemical plant that specializes in producing batteries. Before the apocalypse, this brand was considered an industry leader. That night came too suddenly, and they lost their dispatchers, resulting in half of the chemical plant being destroyed. Fortunately, this warehouse was far from the production plant, so it escaped the disaster.
The five of them, except for Song Xia, each drove a large truck. At first, they thought it was a bit exaggerated, but now they didn't expect it to be a bit insufficient to show off.
"That's enough, let's not move them anymore. We need to leave some space for the live mutant animals."
The group stopped carrying, their arms aching from lifting, but they still felt it wasn't enough.
"Ha!" Song Xia suddenly stood up and stared in one direction without moving. Song Ziming and the others quickly reacted.
"What's wrong? Have mutated zombies arrived?"
They gazed at the site of the explosion, now reduced to ruins, but no one dared to let their guard down.
"Mother Song..." Before Song Ziming could finish speaking, Song Xia rushed over and threw a powerful punch at the ruins. The ruins trembled, and something inside seemed to awaken.
"Let's go!" When Lao Luo saw the behemoth, he immediately turned the car around. If they didn't leave, the supplies they had painstakingly collected would be destroyed in this battle.
One of the team members said in alarm, "Is that a mutated zombie? How can it be so tall?"
"Maybe it's because of pre-apocalyptic chemical raw materials. Damn, there's no radiation, right?"
"If it weren't for radiation, how could he grow this big? Even the giants in mythology aren't this big."
"What about Sister Song?"
Song Ziming glanced in the rearview mirror and stepped on the gas without hesitation. Staying would only cause trouble for Song's mother.
This mutated zombie has probably just awakened, because it is becoming more and more agile as it fights.
They drove for several miles before stopping, and then took out their weapons: "Luckily we brought these, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to help Sister Song."
They asked Zhong Xunqiang for the mortar before leaving the base, thinking it wouldn't be of any use, but thankfully they got it.
Luo took out his binoculars, then moved them away in disgust: "This thing is really ugly."
Isn't it ugly? While ordinary zombies aren't exactly good-looking either, most of them are still in human form. But this monster in front of them is not only three stories tall, but every inch of its skin and flesh is exposed, and in many places it's in wispy strands, as if it might fall off at any moment.
Between the skin and flesh, there was a layer of murky mucus, making it even more disgusting than the monsters in pre-apocalyptic movies.
Needless to say, the area above the neck is completely indistinguishable; the mouth, nose, and eyes are all jumbled up and strangely bulging outwards.
Then the entire back of his head was exposed, like worms wriggling. After Song Ziming looked at it through binoculars, he almost vomited on the spot.
Lao Luo and his group are more resilient; they have to watch even if they don't want to, at least to find weaknesses before attacking.
"I thought the brain would be the most dangerous part of this thing, but Sister Song stuck a steel bar in it and it was fine."
"Sister Song is much better. If I were to do it, this monster would probably eat me alive."
“But this can’t go on. It seems like the monster can’t hurt her no matter where it attacks. Sister Song will eventually run out of strength.”
"Why don't we call Sister Song and drive away?"
"And then just let it grow and become powerful? Who will be its rival then?"
"Only three shots. Give me a clear indication of where to attack."
But no one dared to make that decision, and the atmosphere instantly fell silent.
"Let's wait and see if Mother Song gives any instructions." In the end, it was Song Ziming who spoke up, and everyone decided to listen to him, since his mother, Song Ziming, was the one in charge!
"I even felt that Sister Song's hands were dirty. I felt that if I looked at them for even one more time, I wouldn't be able to eat my next meal."
"I'm thinking, if we win later, how do we get this stuff back?"
"Do we need to ship it back?"
"It must be very valuable for research now that it has grown so big."
Indeed, their most important goal in coming out this time was to capture a high-level mutated animal or mutated zombie. Once they had that, their mission would be accomplished.
"Bang!" As the group was talking, the huge mutated zombie crashed to the ground, but soon it grabbed a heavy machine and hurled it at Song Xia.
"Sister Song has given instructions!"
"Attack where?"
"You mean you want to attack his hand? Sister Song, are you planning to take a live specimen back with you?"
"Then let's do as Sister Song says."
After giving the instructions, Song Xia wrapped a chain around the giant zombie's wrist and then pulled hard.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Lao Luo and his team quickly fired a shot.
The next second, Song Xia was sent flying backward, and the monster fell to the ground again, roaring and angrily smashing things, causing the entire ground to tremble.
But when the dust settled, Lao Luo and his companions were disappointed to find that the monster's arm hadn't been severed; it had only lost some disgusting flesh and slime.
"Damn, it's so hard to beat. Has it evolved into a body of steel or something?"
Lao Luo gritted his teeth: "Continue."
The second shot hit the same spot. After the shot, Song Xia picked up the machine that had just smashed her and smashed it back hard.
"Did it break this time?" Song Ziming asked hopefully.
Old Luo held his breath and stared intently through his binoculars. When the monster stood up, he finally smiled and said, "It's broken! It's broken!"
"Well done!"
"It's finally done."
"But what about the other arm? We only have one shot left."
"Aren't there still a few of us left? What's wrong? You're all low on health, and you're still too scared to go in?"
The man chuckled sheepishly, "Wasn't the battle so intense that I forgot about myself, a nobody?"
Because of its height, the monster was unsteady after losing an arm. Song Xia took the opportunity to grab the other arm and pull hard. After the cannon fire, Song Ziming and the others rushed to provide support before the dust had settled.
Song Xia didn't delay. First, he used iron chains to tie the monster's two feet together, and then he smashed the only remaining arm.
The monster lay on the ground, roaring and rolling around incessantly, the chains embedded in its flesh from the force it exerted.
When Song Ziming and the others arrived and saw this scene, their stomachs churned again.
Then, they channeled their disgust into motivation, relentlessly unleashing their attacks on the monster.
Soon, the monster's body was riddled with holes, its roars grew fainter and fainter, and the crystal core in its head was half exposed.
"As expected, it is the ugliest zombie, with the most beautiful crystal core."
"It's a pity that I have to give it to Zhong Xun and Dr. Jia when I get back; I'm really reluctant to part with it."
"This is the real treasure; it's not worth it to exchange it for his meager support."
"We're outnumbered right now, we'll deal with it later." Song Ziming used thick steel plates to weld and seal the monster's entire head, and also tightly bound the iron chains around its legs.
"Now everything should be foolproof, the only question is how to get it back."
"When I arrived, I saw a large crane in the factory next door."
