Chapter 9 The Mother Driven Mad

After the mother and daughter left, Zhang Yuefen couldn't help but shout loudly again: "What did she mean just now? Did she think we were eating her food? Doesn't she realize who's making money in this family now? It's only natural for me to eat my son's food. She's just an outsider who gave birth to a little girl. What fancy ingredients does she have to eat? Everything in this family will belong to my grandson in the future."

"Alright, everyone's gone. What's the point of saying all this?" Xie Chuancai said, smoking a cigarette. "Instead of wasting time, why don't you hurry up and pack your things?"

"Why would I bother cleaning? Didn't she already call a moving company to save money? I'm not lifting a finger."

"If you don't do anything, it's a minor issue if things get damaged while you're packing, but who can prove if one or two items are missing?"

Hearing this, Zhang Yuefen, who was reluctant to part with her treasures, got up grumbling, "She just knows how to cause trouble for me."

Xie Chuancai finished his cigarette and drank his tea, showing no intention of helping at all, and Zhang Yuefen had no objection to this.

Song Xia didn't care about the family's feelings at all, nor was she worried that Zhang Yuefen would take away what belonged to her. In any case, the Xie family would have to return everything they got from her in the future.

She had an appointment with Aunt Liu today and was also taking Lingling to an early childhood education center for an interview, so she didn't have time to focus on this family.

Aunt Liu's full name is Liu E. She worked for the Song family for more than ten years and was only dismissed after Song Xia's parents passed away. It's no exaggeration to say that she watched Song Xia grow up.

"How did you get so thin?" Aunt Liu looked at Song Xia with great heartache. When Song Xia's parents were alive, she was also thin, but it was a healthy kind of thinness, not like now, where the veins on her arms were clearly visible, her eyes were sunken, her face was pale, and her hair looked like it hadn't been properly taken care of in a long time.

"It's a long story, Aunt Liu. My family's situation isn't as good as it was when my parents were alive. Would you be willing to come back and help me?" Song Xia said sincerely.

"Can I still do it?" Aunt Liu wondered, "I'm so old..."

"Aunt Liu, if you don't come back, I don't know who else I can trust."

These words sounded very serious, and Aunt Liu felt increasingly uneasy, a cloud of suspicion rising within her: "Your husband, he..."

Song Xia glanced at her daughter playing in the children's area, smiled at her, and then said in a deep voice, "I plan to divorce him."

"Have you thought it through?" Aunt Liu was a very sensible person. She would never ask questions she shouldn't. No matter how good the relationship was, she was just a nanny. Moreover, she believed that Song Xia had made this decision after careful consideration.

"Yes, I used to be blinded by love, but I won't be like that anymore. The mistakes I've made over the past few years have been enough for me to see everything clearly."

"Since that's the case, Aunt Liu won't say any more. When do you want me to go back?"

"The sooner the better."

"Then I'll go to my daughter's place to pack my luggage."

Speaking of Aunt Liu's daughter, Song Xia asked with concern, "Qianqian has graduated from university, right? How's your job going?"

Aunt Liu shook her head and sighed: "The job market isn't good these days. Her boss at her last job laid hands on her, and she got angry and hit him back. Although she got justice, she lost her job and is still looking for work, but nothing is going well."

Song Xia pondered for a moment: "How about I ask Qianqian if she wants to work with me? In the early stages, she might just help you take care of Lingling and pick her up and drop her off. Later, once I take back Song's Group, there will always be a suitable position for her in the company."

Aunt Liu was somewhat tempted, because she knew that the Song family had always been kind people. Now that Song Xia had come to her senses and was determined to take everything back, it would definitely not do any harm to let her daughter stay with them.

"We'll have to ask her, Miss. Don't worry, if she agrees, I will definitely make sure she takes it seriously."

Song Xia had absolute faith in Aunt Liu. She had met Liu Qian before; she was an ambitious person who hated evil. Liu's father had treated the mother and daughter very badly back then, and Aunt Liu was gentle in nature. They only escaped unscathed because Liu Qian protected them. Although asking Liu Qian was a last-minute decision, it was definitely not impulsive.

Sure enough, after learning about Song Xia's current situation from a few words, Liu Qian agreed without hesitation. In order to get to know Lingling as soon as possible, she even accompanied her to the early education institution.

Liu Qian graduated from a prestigious university and has an outgoing personality, so she easily became friends with Lingling.

"Aunt Qianqian, are you really going to live with us from now on?" Lingling asked excitedly.

"Yes." Liu Qian hugged her and lifted her high in the air. "How about Auntie takes care of your daily life and studies from now on?"

Lingling looked at Song Xia, and seeing Song Xia's encouraging smile, she cheered, "That's great! I like Auntie!"

"Auntie likes our Lingling too, Lingling is so cute."

Because the Xie family disliked that Lingling was a girl, even though Zhang Yuefen said she liked and loved her, the child wasn't stupid, how could she not sense the disdain beneath the hypocritical facade?

Therefore, this was a rare genuine compliment that Lingling had heard, and her eyes curved into two small crescent moons.

After being held for a while, Lingling was worried that Liu Qian couldn't carry her anymore, so she asked to walk on her own. Then she walked to Song Xia's side and whispered, "Mommy, I really like this auntie!"

She thought she was speaking softly, but Liu Qian heard every single word and jokingly said, "Thank you for liking it, Lingling. Auntie is very happy!"

After being teased like this, Lingling, embarrassed, hugged Song Xia's leg, closed her eyes, and pressed herself tightly against her trouser leg.

Song Xia and Liu Qian chuckled quietly, but Liu Qian didn't keep her embarrassed for long; she quickly made her giggle again.

Children are really simple; they become close to whoever treats them well. Liu Qian had only met Lingling for the first time today, but Lingling had already listed her as a close confidante.

Song Xia felt very complicated. She hadn't cared enough for Lingling in the past, and she had focused more on Xie Yuan, which resulted in Lingling having too little contact with people and even little social interaction.

I always thought Lingling was still young, but if I really procrastinate, it will be too late to regret it. It's hard to make up for the time spent with her when she was young.

On the way to the early childhood education center, she kept introducing the school to Lingling.

However, despite her eloquent speech, Lingling's reaction was: "Mom, I will be a good girl, don't worry, Mom."

Not to mention Song Xia, even Liu Qian felt a pang of sadness upon hearing this. Just how sensible and perceptive must a child be to say something like that? At most, they're only three years old!

Song Xia hugged the child tightly, saying with heartache, "Mom isn't worried. As long as Lingling is happy, that's all that matters."

She thought that cultivating Lingling's "willfulness" and liveliness was still a long way off. Why should a child think so much? She should be carefree. If she thinks so far ahead at such a young age, she will be very tired when she grows up.

"Sister Xiaxia, is this the place?" Upon arriving at the location, Liu Qian was amazed by the luxurious early education institution, but Song Xia's expression changed.

Liu Qian followed the gaze and asked, "Sister Xiaxia, what's wrong?"

Song Xia's eyes were cold, and her tone was indifferent: "It's nothing, I just ran into Xie Yuan's mistress and his illegitimate child."
