"Wei Jie, Jiaqing's aunt is here, aren't you going over?"
Before Wei Jie could react, Qi Chang tugged at Xu Keke's sleeve, leaned down, and whispered in her ear, "Aunt Jiaqing, what does this have to do with him?"
Xu Keke rolled her eyes at him. "What kind of relationship could we possibly have? Do you think we're a good match?"
“No, of course it’s not appropriate.” Qi Chang shook his head like a rattle-drum. “That’s why you introduced him to Jiaqing’s aunt.”
"Otherwise what?"
Wei Jie was dumbfounded. He knew that the people in this courtyard had a good relationship, but he really didn't expect that Engineer Qi would be so approachable in front of this young girl.
"What are you sitting there for? Hurry up and go." Qi Chang impatiently tapped the table on Wei Jie's head. "Don't keep the girl waiting. She's quite nice. Be smart. Don't let her look down on you again."
Judging from his words, did he go on a blind date with Aunt Jiaqing? Xu Keke and Wei Jie looked at him almost simultaneously. Unlike Wei Jie, Xu Keke didn't care about his status and blurted out, "You've met him?"
Qi Chang's eyes widened as he looked at Xu Keke. "How could that be? How could I have seen that? I wouldn't have had that time."
"Then how do you know that girl is a good person?"
Qi Chang was somewhat speechless. "What I meant was that he should be more quick-witted. Aunt Gao's sister definitely can't be a bad person. He's a bit... I'm afraid she won't like him."
Wei Jie, “…”, something was off, but Qi Gong didn’t say anything.
"Yes, he is quite honest. I heard from Manager Lin that every time he goes on a blind date, he shows the woman his injured arm. So when he came today, I told him that I didn't want to see it and that I wasn't planning on marrying him."
"Arm?" Qi Chang muttered, his gaze towards Wei Jie changing, becoming much more serious. "You were the last one to come out of that fire."
Wei Jie smiled but didn't say anything.
"Come over when you're done. I have a book here for you to borrow. You can ask me if you don't understand anything." Qi Chang stuffed Xu Keke's first-year high school physics book into Meng Jia's arms. "Take it to your sister's room later."
Wei Jie pointed to the book, looking confused. "Wasn't that for me?"
Qi Chang glanced at Xu Keke; she did look a little dazed.
Xu Keke nodded to him in agreement.
Seeing the man's even more confused expression, Qi Chang said to him earnestly, "This book is too simple; it won't be of any use to you. I'll find you another one that's more suitable."
