Xu Keke drank a few mouthfuls of porridge and ate a steamed bun. Then she began to tell them about the original owner's experiences over the years.
Her words brought tears to the landlady's eyes. She looked around, realizing that besides steamed buns, she could offer Xu Keke nothing else. She looked away with some regret.
She handed her another steamed bun, saying, "Your child has suffered so much! When you were first born, your wet nurse held you like a little dumpling. After you were able to run around, you came to our shop almost every day to eat steamed buns. How could this happen! It's all the fault of this world."
As she spoke, the proprietress wiped away another tear, "If your mother knew this, she would be heartbroken!"
Xu Keke held the steamed bun with some hesitation. It wasn't that she didn't want to eat, but the original owner's stomach simply couldn't handle much hunger. Her biggest fear right now was that Yun Sheng would get an upset stomach.
Seeing Yun Sheng about to grab the steamed buns, Xu Keke quickly stopped him. Yun Sheng glanced at her, and the passionate flame in his eyes instantly died down. He lowered his hand in disappointment.
"Let him eat it. Whose child is this? He's so pretty. I thought he was your younger brother," the proprietress said, unable to bear it any longer.
“He can’t eat anymore. We only eat half a pancake a day at the factory. If he suddenly eats so much, he’ll get sick. He can have some porridge, but he can’t eat anything else,” Xu Keke said seriously.
She was saying this to Yun Sheng. Yun Sheng understood, and leaned over the table, carefully sipping his porridge.
The sun had risen, and the whole city was bathed in warmth. The shop was starting to fill up with customers. The proprietress went inside to help, while the proprietress greeted customers outside.
After finishing her meal, Xu Keke, along with Yun Sheng, helped clear the table and handed him things.
The boss initially tried to stop her, after all, she was the eldest daughter of the Chen family. But when he realized it was no use arguing, he stopped interfering.
Yun Sheng learned quickly and was soon able to work well with Xu Keke. However, when there were children around, he would always subconsciously hide behind Xu Keke.
