Chen Ming smiled at Miss Guo and said, "I apologize for bothering you, but I'm from Farman Insurance."
As he spoke, Chen Ming handed over the business card in his hand.
Miss Guo didn't take it, and looked at him coldly, "You're too late, our factory has already been insured."
"You've misunderstood," Chen Ming said with a gentle smile, conveying an undeniable warmth.
"This is an insurance company from country A. They're looking for a partner in China. After thinking it over, I decided to ask you first if you'd be interested in collaborating."
I know you've never held a senior position in your family's factory, which tells me you must have entrepreneurial aspirations. If my guess aligns with your thoughts, I sincerely suggest you consider this insurance company; it's a well-known and long-established company in Country A.
To be honest, the situation in China right now isn't optimistic. If war were to break out, someone as young as you would definitely want to settle abroad.
Then you might consider going to Country A. We offer very favorable terms to our domestic partners. If the domestic company ceases operations due to the war, your investment can be directly transferred to the overseas company. You can continue to enjoy the profits. Isn't that perfect?
Miss Guo maintained her indifferent expression, but reached out and took the business card from Chen Ming's hand.
"You can rest assured that we have a large sum of money deposited in Zhongda Bank as collateral to deal with any emergencies."
And to be honest, the reason I thought of cooperating with you first is because older people are always attached to their homeland. They don't believe in unforeseen circumstances. They always think that relationships can hold everything together. But when a real conflict breaks out, relationships are unreliable.
They are simply too conservative. Their ideas are unshakeable.
Miss Guo scrutinized him, scanning him from head to toe. She took off her hat, placed it in front of her chest, bowed politely, and then turned and got into her car.
Chen Ming turned to look at Xu Keke, who was dressed as a boy, and asked, "What do you think? Will it work out?"
“I bet she doesn’t have any money.” Xu Keke patted Yun Sheng, who was sitting between the two seats.
Yun Sheng sat back in the back seat and opened the yellow paper package containing pea flour cake. He carefully pinched it with his hands and ate it.
Xu Keke's words left Chen Ming somewhat disheartened. He didn't know if Xu Keke's plan would succeed.
He reached out his hand to Yun Sheng. Yun Sheng remembered that he didn't like having saliva on his hands, so he wiped his hands vigorously on his clothes, took a piece of food, and handed it to him.
Xu Keke coldly observed the two, one big and one small. This was the friendship that had quickly formed between them after Chen Ming generously offered to take Yun Sheng with him when she was about to leave Yun Sheng with Li.
Having other things to do that evening, Chen Ming had the driver drop the three people off at a nearby restaurant before letting the hired driver drive them home.
Li Shi arrived shortly afterward. He breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that the three people were alright.
"Why don't you redeem those you're close to and find them jobs? What you're doing is too dangerous."
Last night, Xu Keke described the situation inside the factory to them, including some of the original owner's memories.
Although Li Shi knew why Xu Keke was doing this, he was still worried. Giving favors and having private dealings with the police were, in his view, things that ordinary people shouldn't be doing. What these two were doing was simply reckless.
Xu Keke asked Chen Ming, "What did you say?"
The most dangerous one here is Chen Ming; they are all behind the scenes, so they can't be hurt.
Chen Ming picked out half of the spaghetti in his hand and threw it onto Yun Sheng's plate, then cut off a third of his steak.
"I think it's fine, there's no danger. It's just that this guy has no money, so it's useless for you to cheat him." Chen Ming cut a piece of steak and threw it into his mouth. He wanted to take a sip of wine, and his hand was already reaching for the wine barrel when he noticed Xu Keke's wary gaze and withdrew it.
“She has no money, but her dad does. If you push her too far, she’ll find a way herself. There’s no need to rush,” Xu Keke said confidently.
Chen Ming and Li Shi exchanged a glance. Li Shi sighed deeply.
After the four of them finished their meal, Li Shi drove them to the Remote Club.
Early in the morning, Xu Keke asked Li Shixian for some money and bought Chen Ming a very expensive suit, along with gold-rimmed glasses. She also bought him gleaming leather shoes, a watch, and a wallet.
This was a considerable expense, and Li Shi didn't have the money. He risked being sent home to withdraw the money from the business's account.
Chen Ming was remarkably adept at dressing himself up as a wealthy man; with his own styling, he gave off a completely new vibe. He looked every bit the rich young master who had just returned from abroad.
Once inside the club, Xu Keke followed Chen Ming around like a little brother.
On the club's small stage, dancers wore revealing feather skirts that barely covered their hips, feather headdresses, and feather fans. Their supple waists swayed joyfully to the music.
As Chen Ming swayed slightly along with the music, he kindly explained to Xu Keke, "This is the opening dance, so it's usually very lively. There will be a saxophone solo later, which will be quieter. I don't know if other places will have a striptease or pole dancing, but here it will be really high-energy."
As they walked past Miss Guo, Chen Ming showed a surprised expression and waved to her.
Miss Guo assumed they had come with her, gave him an annoyed look, and turned her head away. The young lady accompanying her, dressed in a cheongsam, had initially been sitting sideways. Seeing Miss Guo looking at the wine bottle, she quickly knelt down and respectfully poured her some wine.
Seeing this, Xu Keke smiled.
The two walked to their pre-booked spot, and Chen Ming whispered in Xu Keke's ear, "What are you laughing at?"
