During the meal, someone suddenly asked, "Miss Chen, I wonder if your journey has been smooth? I heard that the waves were quite rough a few days ago. I wonder if you got seasick on the ship."
Another person said, "Yes, it must be unpleasant to be on a boat for the first time and encounter storms."
Li Wan, sitting at another table, felt a pang of emotion upon hearing this. She hadn't thought it through; she'd even forgotten to ask her daughter's name after seeing her.
She looked across several people at her daughter sitting at the head table.
The little girl looks like her, with delicate features, but she looks a bit too thin.
Suddenly, Chen Zikang, who was sitting next to her, spoke up, "We've had a relatively peaceful time on the ship. The journey has been smooth sailing."
Li Wan frowned. They had already made it clear they didn't want her, so there was no point in shamelessly trying to get closer. Why bother humiliating herself further?
She gave Chen Zikang a disapproving look.

This completely embarrassed Chen Zikang. He sat at the table, his face turning red and then white.

“Yes, our journey was relatively smooth.” Xu Keke spoke up, getting Chen Zikang out of the awkward situation.
Li Wan breathed a sigh of relief, while Chen Zikang's hand, which was tightly gripping the chopsticks, showed prominent veins.
"However, something happened on our first day on the ship. My father took me to the deck, saying we could see big fish jumping around..."
Li Wan, who was listening to her daughter, heard a 'clatter' as her husband's chopsticks fell to the ground. She turned her head and found that her husband, who was sitting next to her, had turned extremely pale.
She didn't know what had happened on the ship. She listened intently, still busy.
"I don't know what suddenly went wrong with that man, he ran towards me. I happened to see what looked like a fish over there, so I went to my father's side and pointed it out to him. As a result, that man dragged my father and himself down with him."

“Of course Huihui is willing. It was Huihui who suggested it. She said she wanted to live with her sister.” Li Wan tried to keep her tone calm and spoke softly to Xu Keke.
"She wants to live with me, so why didn't you ask me or think about whether I wanted to live with her?"
Li Wan was speechless after being choked by Xu Keke's words.
She truly hadn't expected that when Huihui first brought it up, her husband had been praising Huihui, saying she was a kind-hearted and good girl. Even before meeting her, she already knew she wanted to be close to her older sister.
She really didn't consider whether her daughter would be unhappy.
"Mom thought you would like being with your sisters. So..."
Xu Keke interrupted rudely, "I don't like it. I don't like living in the same room as an ugly girl. I'll have nightmares if I see her. She has too many freckles on her face. She's really ugly."
Li Wan was stunned. Ever since she picked up her daughter, she had always acted like an adult. Her sudden childish words left her somewhat bewildered.
Huihui is still only ten years old, and she had already suffered a lot today. Her father first hit her, then ignored her during the meal. He didn't even hold her hand when they left the restaurant. On the way home, she pretended to be unhappy, but he didn't try to comfort her.
