Xu Keke has complicated feelings for Liu Fang.
Liu Fang collected trash and desperately saved money. Aside from giving the money to her son and grandson, she also raised the original owner of this body.
She never even hit or scolded the original owner, or made any demands on her. She never raised her voice at the original owner.
Even tasks like cooking porridge and tidying up the house were done voluntarily by the original owner.
Actually, if the original owner didn't want to do it, Liu Fang wouldn't force him. She would do it herself, dragging her elderly body to do these things.
However, based on the original owner's feelings, Xu Keke couldn't feel grateful to Liu Fang.
Because Liu Fang had been using passive-aggressive tactics against the original owner of the body.
She wouldn't initiate conversations with the original owner, nor would she treat her particularly well. She also made no attempt to hide her indifference towards the original owner.
What kind of person would a child grow up to be treated coldly by the only person they could be close to and rely on?
In Xu Keke's view, this was an unimaginable thing.
The original owner was only mildly autistic, and even tried to care for those who were kind to her. She even knew to take care of Liu Fang. It was practically a miracle.
Lying in bed, looking at Liu Fang's frail figure, Xu Keke couldn't figure out how to treat her.
The money belongs to Liu Fang; it's her business who she chooses to give it to. Raising the original owner of this body is not her obligation. In fact, without her, the original owner might have been worse off than she is now, having fallen into the hands of her stepmother.
So when Xu Keke got up in the morning, she did what the original owner of the body did and cooked porridge for Liu Fang. It was actually very simple; she just poured in water and added rice.
Liu Fang got up in the middle of the night and had been tidying up her junk ever since. Xu Keke greeted her before leaving, but she didn't even look up.
She went downstairs and out of the residential compound. Li Bo was riding his bicycle, one foot on the curb, waiting for her on the opposite side of the road.
Seeing Xu Keke walking towards him, he immediately turned his bicycle around, leaving his back to her.
Xu Keke tossed her schoolbag into the bicycle basket, sat sideways on the back seat, and asked matter-of-factly, "Where's breakfast?"
"I don't have time," Li Bo said irritably. "I had someone else bring it for you."
Xu Keke tapped his back with her hand, "You'd better behave yourself, or I'll tell everyone at school about you wetting your pants yesterday. Also, don't mess with me, you can't beat me."
Hearing Xu Keke's warning, Li Bo snorted coldly. Thinking of the feeling of the knife tracing his face yesterday, and Xu Keke's sinister look, Li Bo didn't dare to talk back.
Frustrated, he rode his bicycle with Xu Keke to school.
The bicycle hadn't even gotten close to the school when it already drew gasps of surprise from the students on the roadside.
Li Bo parked his bicycle and took Xu Keke's schoolbag out of the basket. Looking at Xu Keke again, she had already jumped off the bicycle and walked a short distance away.
Li Bo resignedly carried her schoolbag on his back and reluctantly followed behind.
Li Bo never imagined that while he was still feeling ashamed of being Xu Keke's lackey, others would think he was dating Xu Keke.
"Li Bo, you don't like Jiang Xiaofei anymore?" A male classmate who usually hung out with Li Bo caught up with him and looked at Xu Keke in front of him.
She put her arms around his neck and said, "How could you like someone like her? She's not good-looking, and her clothes are awful. I heard she's not a good student either. Li Bo, how could you fall for her?"
Li Bo struggled internally for a moment. Between telling the truth and being laughed at, and being misunderstood, he chose the latter.
She flung the man's hand away and retorted unhappily, "What do you know!"
As she approached the teaching building, Xu Keke slowed her pace. Seeing that Li Bo hadn't caught up, she finally stopped and waited for him.
As he approached the boy, Xu Keke glanced at him and said simply, "I have something to say to Li Bo."
The boy was ecstatic. He'd never seen a girl so cool before. He nodded eagerly and ran off happily.
Xu Keke took the schoolbag from Li Bo. Students nearby, seeing the two of them standing on the road, automatically walked around them.
"You're not allowed to bully anyone at school today. And you're not allowed to leave early. Also, my lunch..."
“I know,” Li Bo interrupted impatiently, “It’s just preparing lunch for you. I know!”
Xu Keke looked at him coldly, "Watch your attitude. I don't like repeating myself."
Li Bo was intimidated by Xu Keke's gaze. Looking at her, he dared not speak again.
Xu Keke picked up her schoolbag and turned to leave. From the original owner's memories and what Li Bo had done yesterday, she had already figured it out. This Li Bo wasn't some heinous school bully.
The reason he became so terrifying was partly due to the influence of those around him.
His hostility towards Cheng Yi stemmed from Jiang Xiaofei.
He couldn't accept that the girl he liked had fallen for someone more outstanding than him.
While his methods of bullying Cheng Yi were despicable, they were also extremely childish.
And when he scared Xu Keke yesterday, besides throwing her schoolbag on the ground, he also grabbed her arm and talked nonsense for a long time.
He didn't intend to use his fists against someone weaker than himself, and for that reason alone, there's still hope for him.
Xu Keke sat in the classroom. Discussions about her were, again, seemingly happening quietly.
A senior high school boy hurriedly walked in carrying milk and bread. He walked up to Xu Keke's desk, seemingly oblivious to everyone else, and placed the items on the table.
"Li Bo asked me to bring this to you."
The classroom fell silent instantly at those words. Only the sound of Cheng Yi's cane striking the ground could be heard.
Xu Keke thanked the boy. As the boy passed by Cheng Yi, he thought that Li Bo no longer liked Jiang Xiaofei, so they had no more grudges against Cheng Yi.
The boy nodded to Cheng Yi, then walked past him and left.
Cheng Yi had been listening the whole way. After he sat down, he asked Xu Keke in a low voice, "Are you dating Li Bo?"
Seeing the ears standing up in front of her, Xu Keke shook her head and said shamelessly, "No, he's pursuing me."
Cheng Yi stared at her for a long time, feeling like she was joking.
