Xu Keke has had enough of this game.
She could stop the game at any time; the reason she's dragged it out for so long is simply because of her curiosity—she wants to know the true cause of the original owner's death.
The blanket was prepared by Aunt Sun; it was a light-colored floral pattern. Jin Zhichang's leather shoes stepped on the branch of that small white flower.
Everyone could imagine that if he lifted his foot, dirty shoe prints would appear. Xu Keke frowned, looking at Jin Zhichang with disgust. There was a reason why she hadn't liked him from the first moment she saw him.
Xu Keke pulled the blanket back hard, and Jin Zhichang lost his balance and fell to the ground.
What happened next was far from simple. In Xu Keke's view, there was nothing in this world that a small knife couldn't solve. Except for money.
When Jin Zhichang arrived, he never expected that someone would press a pencil sharpener against his carotid artery.
Jin Zhichang fell to the ground in a sorry state, his head held down by Xu Keke. He dared not move except to glare at Xu Keke with a sidelong glance.
"Make them back off." Xu Keke's hand trembled, and blood gushed out.
The sinister look in Jin Zhichang's eyes disappeared, and he exclaimed, "Back off! You all back off!"
The group exchanged glances and hesitated, taking a half-step back. At Xu Keke's signal, Cheng Yi moved to her side.
Where is my mother?
Xu Keke's hand trembled again.
Jin Zhichang looked down at the knife, but he couldn't actually see anything. His voice trembled as he said, "She went back. You...you saw her."
Xu Keke suddenly remembered something, "The woman who stood at the door that day?"
When Jin Zhichang took Li Bo home that day, a woman came out of the house with him.
Judging from the woman's expression and simple attire, Xu Ke could tell that she was the housekeeper hired by Li Bo's family.
Does she know who I am?
"I...I know!"
Xu Keke recalled that the woman's gaze when she saw her was calm and indifferent, as if she were looking at a stranger.
That's true. If she really cared about the original owner's daughter, why would she have kept avoiding her?
She must have met the original owner, but she did not acknowledge her as the original owner.
A wave of emotion flashed through Xu Keke's mind: the mission was complete; should she end the game?
There were only two buttons, "Yes" and "No," and the interface had no prompt window. Xu Keke sighed inwardly.
Looking at Cheng Yi beside her, she wondered if they would disappear with her when the game ended, or if only she would disappear.
If only she disappears, then Cheng Yi will be left to face these people, and that's not the outcome she wants to see.
Xu Keke hesitated before pressing "No".
The instant she pressed "no," a group of people suddenly rushed out from behind and pinned all those who had surrounded them to the ground.
It turned out that the teachers who were wandering around had already gone back because they were worried.
They saw from afar that Jiang Xiaofei ran away, and then people surrounded the two of them.
These teachers have a very clear understanding of themselves. All of them combined couldn't even defeat one of them.
The teachers promptly turned around and went to the nearby village to call for help.
The news came quickly this time. As Xu Keke had expected, Jin Zhichang's uncle, the man the original owner's mother later married, had died of illness.
The original owner's mother died in a car accident shortly after returning from visiting her hometown.
The original owner's mother was once Jin Zhichang's uncle's nanny. Jin Zhichang and his family were unaware of their marriage until they learned of it from their lawyer before the will was published.
According to the local will and succession order, the original owner is the first in line to inherit if the original owner's mother dies. If the original owner dies, then Jin Zhichang will be the sole heir.
Suddenly becoming wealthy didn't change Xu Keke herself. The inheritance process was very complicated. Even with Cheng Yi and his family's help, she couldn't receive the money immediately.
But the attitude of those around her had changed drastically.
When you're poor, no one cares about you in the bustling city; when you're rich, even distant relatives come to visit you in the deep mountains.
The original owner's stepmother took Yunhan to the school and insisted that Xu Keke go back to live there, even offering to return the key to Xu Keke.
Xu Keke rejected him.
Luna, already marginalized, is now completely isolated. She spends every day at school alone. Her deskmate, unable to switch seats, has even been transferred to a different class.
The parents told the school that Luna's character was too bad, and they were afraid that their child would be corrupted if he sat with her.
The original owner used to sit in the last row of the classroom, on the very edge. Looking back now, that wasn't so bad.
It's much better than Luna, who is so obviously alone, sitting in the middle of the classroom, being publicly tortured every day.
The teacher scheduled a class meeting and held a vote to re-elect the class monitor.
Xu Keke directly nominated Xiao Han, saying he was helpful, enthusiastic, and friendly to his classmates. He also had excellent academic performance and strong overall abilities.
In short, don't choose me, I won't do it.
Even so, Xu Keke and Xiao Han ended up with a tie. Someone even abstained and submitted a blank sheet of paper.
Needless to say, everyone in the class knew whose blank sheet of paper it was. Besides Luna, no one else could be identified.
Fortunately, the teacher realized that Xu Keke truly had no interest in a career in government, and for the sake of the long term, the teacher finally wrote Xiao Han's name on the blank sheet of paper.
Luna desperately wanted to transfer schools. She went home and begged her mother for a long time, crying and making a scene. Unexpectedly, her mother actually allowed her to go to school and get along with Xu Keke.
