Fang San suddenly stopped the car on the side of the road, startling Xu Keke.
Fang San's next move startled Xu Keke even more. He turned around and lunged at her. Xu Keke thought he was going to kiss her and quickly closed her eyes in fright. Her heart was pounding wildly.
Unexpectedly, Fang San simply rolled up the car window for her and then sat back down.
Xu Keke was furious with herself. She slapped Fang San several times and yelled, "No way! Who wants to date you? You always have a dark face and ignore everyone. I don't know what you're thinking. Who wants to date you?"
Fang Sanren didn't dodge Xu Keke's blows. "When have I ever been mean to you? You're the one ignoring me. You clearly know what she thinks of me... and you still tell her we have nothing to do with each other. You still won't talk to me. I thought... my grandpa said you definitely wouldn't like me. Unless you're blind, you wouldn't like me."
This old man is a master at tricking his grandson. Xu Keke stopped, but she had already said it wasn't allowed.
"Ask me again?" Xu Keke said shamelessly.
"What?"
Xu Keke retorted angrily, "I'll ask you again. If you don't understand, then forget it."
Suddenly, Fang San had a flash of inspiration. "I want to date you, is that okay?"
"Can."
Upon hearing Xu Keke utter those two words, Fang San was first stunned, then became so excited he was at a loss for what to do.
His grandfather had two sons and three grandsons, but no girls in the family. He joined the army right after graduating from high school and never had a girlfriend. He had absolutely no experience interacting with girls.
Fang San grabbed Xu Keke's hand. "I've met you when you were little. My parents were sent to work in the border region, and one year they brought me back to visit them. You happened to be at your maternal grandfather's house. We've met before."
Xu Keke knew he was still holding a grudge about Li Ningshan, so she smiled and poked his forehead, repeating what Grandpa Fang had said, "Silly boy!"
"Fools are lucky; how can you get a wife if you're not a fool?"
Seeing Fang San's smug look, Xu Keke was amused and annoyed. She pulled her hand away and said, "Hurry up and drive, you idiot."
Fang San had both hands on the steering wheel. Just as Xu Keke was about to start the car, Fang San suddenly leaned over and kissed her cheek. Then he quickly sat back down, smiled, shifted gears, accelerated, and started the car.
"When you closed your eyes just now, were you thinking...?"
"Shut up, if you say another word, we can't be together."
