Chapter 19 Twenty Years After Being Kidnapped
In the rental house, a quick phone call rang.
Song Liao, who hadn't had a proper sleep for three days, looked around blankly with heavy dark circles under his eyes.
The dense data on the computer kept jumping. Song Liao searched for a while before he found the ringing cell phone under a pile of instant noodle boxes.
Song Liao looked at the unfamiliar landline number. The caller ID showed that it was a local number. Thinking that it might be a response to the job application, Song Liao quickly pressed the call button.
"Hello, is this Mr. Song Liao?"
Song Liao's voice was a little hoarse from not speaking for several days. "Yes, may I ask what can I do for you?"
The person on the other end of the line sounded like a young girl. "Uh, I'm from Qiao's Technology. I want to inform you that you will have an interview at Qiao's Technology at 9 o'clock tomorrow morning."
"Qiao Technology?" Song Liao didn't remember submitting his resume to this company, but since they were willing to interview him, he naturally wouldn't miss the opportunity. "Okay, I'll be there on time tomorrow! Thank you, thank you."
After hanging up the phone, Song Liao quickly went online to look up information about Qiao Technology. After searching for a long time, he found out that the company had been established for a very short time and there was no information about the company on the Internet.
"Isn't it a shell company?" Song Liao had doubts, but still didn't want to miss such an opportunity.
The next day, Song Liao got up at seven o'clock and took good care of himself. Before half past eight, he was standing at the door of Qiao Technology.
How to say it?
Surprised and determined to win, Song Liao looked at the entire building belonging to Qiao Technology Company and felt that such a wealthy company must be held tightly!
Walking into the door of Bridge Technology Company, you will see a spacious lobby with a shiny floor. In the center of the lobby, at the circular front desk with a fashionable and technological feel, sits a little girl with a bun hairstyle.
Song Liao adjusted his suit and tie, ironed the hem of his suit, picked up his laptop bag, and walked towards the front desk with steady steps.
"Hello, I'm here for an interview." Very good, the voice sounded very steady.
Zhaodi, now her name is Qiao Hui.
Qiao Hui looked up from the sea of questions and saw a big brother wearing thick black-framed glasses speaking to her in a gentle tone. Her dark eyes focused and she recognized that this person was one of the people on the resume.
Qiao Hui put down the pen in his hand. The familiar voice made Song Liao sure that the person who called him yesterday was the little girl in front of him. Looking at the topic the little girl had just written, Song Liao understood that the little girl was not yet an adult.
"Brother Song Liao, right? Go straight to the sixth floor. There are people there. Just go over there and tell us your name."
Song Liao nodded modestly to express his gratitude.
Song Liao, who thought he was just here for an interview, never expected that he would get straight into work mode without even having an interview.
Feng Wu also bid farewell to his daily lazy life, put on a white coat, and started working diligently in the studio. Facing a large group of old men with fiery eyes, Feng Wu adapted well.
…
One year later
Feng Wu was freed from the studio. Tomorrow was the day his adopted daughter would take the college entrance examination. Feng Wu handed over the work at hand and returned to Huating Garden under the reluctant gazes of a group of old men.
The driver dropped the person off downstairs. Feng Wu opened his eyes and prepared to get out of the car, but the door had already been opened from the outside.
Feng Wu paused as he was about to get out of the car, and when he looked up he saw the man standing outside the door.
The man had lost a lot of weight, and his angular jawline looked even more three-dimensional. His silver-gray eyes looked at Feng Wu coldly, "Ms. Xie, are you not getting out of the car?"
Feng Wu came back to his senses, feeling inexplicably guilty. He greeted her gently, "Mr. Fu, long time no see. I heard you've been doing well abroad this year."
"It's okay, not as good as Ms. Xie. But she can cooperate with the country on artificial intelligence projects. It won't be long before Qiao Technology will soar into the sky." Fu Liumo looked at Feng Wu with the same straightforward and warm gaze. Listening to the meaning of her words, he knew that she had paid attention to him, and his depressed heart relaxed a little.
"Ms. Xie, am I always so amazing? It's as if all the good things in this world are related to you. Even though I know you are married and have a daughter, I still think about you day and night and can't stop thinking about you." If you die, you will die. If you don't say some things, you will never have the chance to say them in this life.
Feng Wu: "..." Did this person take the wrong medicine? This blatant teasing made her fists hard.
Fu Liumo seemed unconscious as he made a dangerous yet charming confession, "Ms. Xie, I've been calm for a year, but the moment I saw you just now, everything became a joke. I want to ask you to look at me, have pity on me. I don't ask for much. Let's just meet once a week, no, once a month. Just let me see you, okay?"
Feng Wu remained silent, then pointed out his awkward identity. "I'm married and have children, and you don't mind at all. You even disregard your own reputation and become a shameful third party to stay by my side, just to see me once a month?"
Is this man really still the noble and cold Fifth Master of the Fu family?
"My reputation isn't as important as you. Besides, I won't do anything. I'll just be an admirer following you. Just let me watch from afar, okay?"
Feng Wu was simply disgusted. What kind of love-brained person was this? This must be in the late stages!
But it just so happens that this love-minded person who only looks at you regardless of everything, this kind of preference makes people inexplicably moved.
Feng Wu felt that it would be best for the two of them to maintain the status quo before their adopted daughter took the college entrance examination. From then on, it would all depend on how this foolish love-brained man performed.
"Let's talk about this later. My daughter is at home. Next time..." Feng Wu wanted to say that they could have a good chat next time, but the man thought she was refusing him.
The self-torture trick was completely useless. Fu Liumo didn't care about anything else. The fear of losing her overcame everything. He hugged Feng Wu tightly from behind with both hands.
Feng Wu subconsciously forgot to fight back and smelled a faint smell of alcohol coming from the man.
Is this to give yourself courage by quitting drinking?
The man's low, hoarse voice sounded, "Little Phoenix, please don't leave me. I miss you so much, so much."
Feng Wu's face changed drastically when the man called out "Little Phoenix".
She turned around, held the man's handsome face in her hands, and asked in a trembling voice, "What did you call me just now?"
Fu Liumo was slightly tipsy, but he could feel the hand holding his face trembling. "Little Phoenix, you are my little Phoenix. I don't understand why I call you that, but I subconsciously want to do this, just like I subconsciously love you, um..."
The man stared in contemplation for a moment, then said, "It seems like this is all an instinctive decision. Little Phoenix, if I tell you that I subconsciously feel that you belong to me, would you think I'm lying to you?"
Feng Wu concealed the panic in her eyes. Fu Liumo had this instinct, and she subconsciously also had this instinct, happy and resistant at the same time. This was her instinctive perception of Fu Liumo.
Feng Wu closed his eyes in pain. Why did he feel so out of control?
They clearly haven't seen it before?
She had a clear memory of all the time, even the hundreds of years she had spent in the Ten Thousand Worlds. Was she sure she had never seen this person?
