Time passed slowly, and the potion developed in the base's laboratory was distributed to everyone. Even though everyone had awakened their powers, there were still different levels. After the potion was injected, the effect of enhancing their powers through crystal cores was minimal, so they mostly spent their time killing zombies and building up their physical strength to widen the gap with others. Water, wood, and earth-type psychics were recruited to cultivate plants. Though their levels were relatively low, there was strength in numbers, and soon, the base's vegetable supply increased. All offensive psychics took turns standing guard to protect the base, demonstrating unprecedented unity. But Zhou Linlin was not one of them. She once again brazenly approached Su Jinge. At the villa's entrance, a familiar voice echoed, "Jinge, please come out and see me. I really need you. Can you please help me?" Zhou Linlin's usual affected tone reached Su Jinge's ears. She scratched her ears in the room, an impatient look on her face. Ever since she defeated the red-eyed zombie last time, Zhou Linlin has gone crazy. She keeps coming here every few days to annoy people. It never stops. She's so energetic so early in the morning. Su Jinge turned over and nestled in Lin Xi's arms. "Lin Xi, what do you think Zhou Linlin is doing? She comes here every day. Isn't she annoying?" Lin Xi was still half asleep. She patted Su Jinge's back in a daze, pulled her into her arms, and comforted her, "Ignore her, let's go back to sleep." However, Zhou Linlin had no intention of leaving. She continued to shout from outside the door, "Jinge, I know you're in there. If you don't open the door, I'll keep shouting." Zhou Linlin slammed the door, with an expression of forbearance and unyielding determination on her face, as if someone had forced her to come. Su Jinge finally couldn't hold it any longer. She sat up from Lin Xi's arms and yelled out the door, "Are you done yet? What's going on?" Even though they had already broken up, he still clung to her like a dog-skin plaster. Zhou Linlin, upon hearing Su Jinge's response, immediately shouted, "Jinge, I want to join your team with Qiao An and go out on missions together." "We don't need people like you," Su Jinge replied bluntly, rising from the bed and walking to the window. If she joined, the entire team would soon fall apart. "But I'm a psychic too. I can help," Zhou Linlin pleaded, biting her lip tightly, her heart filled with resentment. Damn Su Jinge! She had been so humble, yet she still refused. If Qiao An hadn't insisted on her coming, she wouldn't have endured this humiliation. Su Jinge stood by the window, chin propped up, watching Zhou Linlin with interest. "What's the use of your powers? Lin Xi has some too!" From her courtyard window, she could just catch a glimpse of Zhou Linlin's expression. Su Jinge tapped her fingertips, a smile flickering in her eyes. She knew Zhou Linlin had no good intentions. Zhou Linlin, still oblivious, leaned against the door and shouted, "Jinge, just consider this a favor, okay? Next time you go out to kill zombies, just let Qiao An and I tag along. We only need a few supplies." She pricked her ears, waiting for Su Jinge's response. When she heard nothing, she angrily kicked the door, a crashing sound. "I told you, we don't need someone like you!" Su Jinge raised her voice. "Why? Give me a reason!" Zhou Linlin persisted. "Huh..." Su Jinge chuckled, "If you must give a reason, then let me tell you, a selfish person like you will only hold the team back. We don't want to be killed by you!" After saying that, Su Jinge slammed the window shut and ignored Zhou Linlin.
