He said angrily, "How dare you come here? Where is Hua Ling? Where did you hide her?"
Yan Li turned around slowly. Fang Yunheng's hands trembled slightly as he casually glanced at the child in his arms.
"I will not use children to threaten Xuanyuan Mo. Return Hua Ling to me, and I will give you whatever you want."
Yan Li handed the child to him indifferently: "Your Highness, why don't you take another look at this child? He was born after Hua Ling went through life and death. He is your flesh and blood."
"Don't try to deceive me..." When Fang Yunheng saw the face of the baby in the cradle clearly, the sword in his hand fell helplessly. He snatched the child away, crying and laughing: "It really is my flesh and blood, it really is my flesh and blood... Where is Hua Ling? Why doesn't she come to see me?"
Yan Li looked at him with sarcasm: "Hua Ling has regained her memory. With all the wrong things you did before, she wants to kill you. Why would she come to see you?"
"Where is she?" Fang Yunheng held the child in one hand and pointed the sword at him with the other, his eyes bloodshot: "I'm asking you where she is!"
Yan Li: "She was taken away by Xuanyuan Mo."
"That short-lived bastard?" Fang Yunheng's face was filled with gloom. "Don't let me see you again. I will show no mercy next time."
……………………
During the war, the capital was heavily guarded.
Hua Ling deliberately exposed her appearance to distract the guards, allowing Yan Li to sneak out with another child.
The guard was shocked when he suddenly saw Hua Ling, whom they had been searching for for months without success. Especially when he noticed that Hua Ling was holding a child in her arms, he did not dare to delay at all and immediately reported this important clue to Xuanyuan Mo.
After receiving the news, Xuanyuan Mo was extremely anxious. He didn't care about anything else, jumped on his horse, and galloped away like an arrow.
Not long after, Xuanyuan Mo arrived at the government office.
A guard stepped forward and reported, "Your Majesty, look, this is the man. He looks at least 90% like the one in the portrait we have!"
Xuanyuan Mo stared at the familiar figure in front of him. Without the other person turning around, just by looking at the back, he was sure that this person must be Hua Ling.
How should he introduce himself to her? Everything in the past was just a cloud of smoke for her, and she had forgotten it long ago.
"Your Majesty." Hua Ling, holding the child in her arms, walked towards him step by step and bowed to him.
Xuanyuan Mo hurried forward to help her up, his eyes full of surprise: "Do you remember?"
Hua Ling nodded slightly. "Yes, Your Majesty, this is our flesh and blood. I've come to give it to you today."
Xuanyuan Mo was filled with joy and took the child from Hua Ling gently and cautiously.
When he saw that the little face looked exactly like his own, he couldn't help but burst out laughing, and the gloom that had been shrouding his heart for days instantly dissipated.
He held the child in one hand and Hua Ling in the other, his eyes filled with the joy of regaining what he had lost. "I have been looking for you for a long time. Come back with me. The Queen Mother misses you very much."
The empress dowager noticed something strange after Wen Qinning entered the palace. Wen Qinning threw things around and had a bad temper, completely different from the former Concubine Ning. Thinking of what Concubine Ning said when she last went to Ci'an Palace, the empress dowager called Wen Qinning to her side.
Although they looked similar, the Queen Mother could tell at a glance that she was not Hua Ling, and she knew nothing about incense and ointment when asked.
Perhaps irritated by the displeasure in her eyes, Wen Qinning became angry before she even said anything, and told her to ask the emperor if she had any questions and not to make things difficult for herself.
The Queen Mother called Xuanyuan Mo over and scolded him, asking him to send Wen Qinning away and bring Hua Ling back. She even became sick from anger over this.
"I have an heir, the Queen Mother will definitely be happy."
Hua Ling gently pushed him away: "I don't plan to return to the palace. This time I came to give the child to you to raise. Being pushed out once is enough."
Xuanyuan Mo knew that she was still blaming him. He had indeed gone too far and he admitted his mistake.
"I won't do that anymore. You've done me a great service in giving birth to an heir, so I'll make you the queen."
Hua Ling didn't show any joy. Xuanyuan Mo's eyes turned sinister and he grabbed Hua Ling's shoulder with one hand: "You don't want to go back to the palace with me. Are you thinking about Fang Yunheng? You also think I can't compare to him, right?"
Hua Ling frowned, her eyes misty: "Your Majesty, you hurt me."
Xuanyuan Mo was a little crazy. He raised his hand and gently stroked the corners of her red eyes, with a morbid paranoia in his eyes.
"Tell me, who have you been with these past few months? Why didn't you come to see me in the capital? Are you planning to go out of town to find Fang Yunheng?"
The child was frightened and started crying. Xuanyuan Mo woke up as if from a dream and tried to comfort the child in a hurry.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to."
Hua Ling retreated palely, "Your Majesty, can you let me go?"
"Can you say that again?"
"I don't want to enter the palace."
Xuanyuan Mo's eyes gradually turned red, and there was a chill in his sinister look: "Unless I die, you can't leave me."
Hua Ling was brought into the palace, and the empress dowager was overjoyed to see the child.
"After so many years of waiting, the emperor's grandson finally appeared. He looks exactly like the emperor when he was a child. Concubine Ning, thank you for your hard work..."
"It's the Queen." Xuanyuan Mo interrupted her.
The Queen Mother rolled her eyes at him. Now you realize how rare it is, what were you doing before?
She could see it clearly, the tenderness and affection that Hua Ling had shown towards him before was gone.
The Queen Mother asked, "When are you going to hold the ceremony to enthronize the Queen?" There is war going on right now, so it is not advisable to spend too much money. If we are going to hold it, we have to keep it simple.
"I've asked the Imperial Astronomical Observatory to calculate, and the 25th of this month is a good day, very auspicious."
The Queen Mother paused in teasing the child and asked, "Isn't it too hasty?"
