Yin Changling felt as if he had been struck by lightning. He looked at Tu Shan Lingxi, whose heart was as firm as a rock, and realized that no one in the world could move her.
"What do you mean by this? You won't even lie to me. Have you already decided to abandon me again?"
Yin Changling's heart skipped a beat. He didn't understand why Tu Shan Lingxi was being so adamant. Had she really changed her mind?
He can change. As long as Xi'er doesn't abandon him, she can accept anything.
Yin Changling hurriedly continued speaking, his eyes still filled with panic and helplessness, wishing he could take back what he had just said.
"Don't misunderstand, I misspoke just now, you... don't..."
As Yin Changling finished speaking, he became so nervous that he became incoherent and couldn't say anything he wanted to say.
However, Tu Shan Lingxi had no intention of causing trouble. When she saw the blood gushing from the man's chest, she panicked. He had finally woken up; she didn't want him to faint again.
"Where's the witch doctor? You should lie back down. You're not even fully recovered yet, and you dare to get out of bed? Are you out of your mind? I'm going to find the witch doctor."
Tu Shan Lingxi pressed the man back onto the bed and was about to leave to find the witch doctor when the man suddenly grabbed her arm as she turned around.
"Xi'er, don't go!"
Having finally caught the man, Yin Changling was unwilling to let him go, so he shouted outside.
"Someone, please summon the witch doctor!"
"yes."
Tu Shan Lingxi was relieved when she heard a noise outside. She followed Yin Changling's movements and sat down on the edge of Yin Changling's bed.
"What were you doing? Don't you know you're still sick?"
Tu Shan Lingxi tentatively used healing techniques to heal Yin Changling, but it was to no avail; the spiritual power had little effect on Yin Changling.
She felt somewhat discouraged, but in the end she withdrew her hand and waited for the witch doctor to come over.
Yin Changling stared longingly at Tu Shan Lingxi, his large hand tightly gripping her small hand, refusing to let her leave.
His eyes, however, were irresistibly drawn to the woman. He saw that her face was incredibly beautiful, and her lips looked as if they had been touched, like the most vibrant flower stamens.
Yin Changling felt a surge of bitterness in his heart. His large hands felt as if they were being violently kneaded, torn apart, and then pieced back together, and nothing felt right.
"Xi'er, could it be that you've changed your mind?"
"I--"
Tu Shan Lingxi was speechless for a moment, not because of anything else, but because she felt that this was just fine. She never belonged to anyone and was as free as the wind.
"Maybe we should just forget about it."
"I will not allow it. You have already abandoned me once, and now you want to abandon me a second time?"
Yin Changling couldn't bear to hear these words. He had suffered three years of torment and the pain of having his heart ripped out before Tu Shan Lingxi showed him even a shred of pity.
Now that Tu Shan Lingxi suddenly regrets it, it's hard for him not to go crazy and suspect that Xi'er has been deceived by Wan Qijin's sweet words again.
"No, I will not allow it! Even if I perish together with Wan Qijin, I will not allow the two of you to elope!"
"?!"
Tu Shan Lingxi opened her eyes wide in shock. What's wrong with this person? Why does he have to go against the Grand Preceptor?
"Yin Changling, you're so ruthless! What did the Imperial Advisor do to you? Why won't you let him go?"
Tu Shan Lingxi became more and more agitated as she spoke, and she jumped up from the bed, her little hand practically pointing at the person and cursing them!
"Xi'er, don't get agitated. As long as you stay, I won't do anything."
Yin Changling's gaze was deep, and his tone was full of threat. He could not back down; if he retreated again and again, he would only have nowhere left to retreat to.
